Pharcyde - Passing Me By 12" (Delicious Vinyl) UK 1993



^Just copped this UK pressing of Passing Me By. Only cool thing about this 12" besides the cover is the "Your Momma" remix, the rest of the remixes on this are cheesy. Still, a nice one for the pharcyde collection.


Just Four - Games of Life 12" (Express Records) 1982



Also just copped this "Freddy Fresh favorite" rap record for a nice price. I can see why it's one of his favorites, for 1982 this one is WAY advanced production wise. It doesn't hurt that Marley Marl is on the remix duties either. Sheer dopeness.

Today I'm listening to the somewhat slept on self titled album by Ahmad from 1994. The production and his flow are both better that I remember. Just wish the annoying usage of the word "n***ero" was cut from most of the songs.

Any remix on a UK 12" is usually horrible.

^Another that I should own but do not. This copy is beat up bad, but I still want it if the price is right cuz it still plays ok and the album is pure fire.



Unit27 ‎– Ninth Earth LP (Unit 27) 2012



^Finally this landed from a long mail delivery. I swear to God this must have rode the pony express or something cuz it took forever to arrive after it was shipped. But it was definitely worth the wait! Really cool introspective beats on this, very Trip Hopish and Hip Hopish. Sometimes dark beats sometimes warm sounds, but loaded with snappy snares just the way I like it. Any one of these tracks could mix easilly with DJ Krush, DJ Shadow and the likes of Tricky and Portishead. I can't wait for the next LP Unit 27, good shit!
