Last night...

Tewz - On Blast Off/Ancient Aliens (flexi-disc single) (Limited to 250)

^Pretty damn cool for my first and only flexi disc record. You would think that this thing has no bass at all but it's actually pretty loud considering how flimsy it is. The hole didn't fit the record player spindle so I had to take a sharp knife and twist it in the hole to widen it. The music is so so, kind of cool Hip Hop, dark beat but nothing too groundbreaking. Worth it for the coolness factor IMO.

Last night…

Beastie Boys feat Santigold & Major Lazer - Don't Play No Game Remix and Dub 7" (Mad Decent) 2012

^I’m feeling buyer’s remorse for buying that. I have outgrown these guys because they have outgrown themselves. Why do I even try to like these old geezers any more. The newest album was mediocre. The only thing on this 7” that is tolerable is the dub because I don’t have to hear their old man voices yelling at me any longer.

Boogie Down Productions - South Bronx Teachings - A Collection Of Boogie Down Productions (Traffic Entertainment Group) 2012

^No remorse for buying this. This is basically a best of compilation done right. Even though I already have a lot of these songs, most of the sources I have em on are pretty beat up. Plus they did a great job remastering them for this heavy pressing 2LP. Fat bass boost on your favorite old school BDP tracks make this a repeat listen.

^^Cool flexi, I only got one as well Biz markie - Bennei & The jets, not as cool but good enough to listen to every now and then

Second of all, which version of advance is on that BDP comp?

Found nothing too fancy in the hip hop category while digging over the weekend but I did pick up:

MC Shy D - Got to be tough (better than I rememeber but worse than I had hoped for)
Don Covay - Badd Boy (not exactly high quality rap from Mr Covay but a fun listen)

Hope for better luck next time...

Not sure but it's the longest song on the comp and it's very electroish. It's definitely one of my favorites on this and I never had this track before so it's new to me.

^Dude that is my all time favorite Miami Bass production style Hip Hop album. Definitely Shy D's best album, I've got doubles of this. Great samples all over this.
