This was a while back but..
I Just posted this on the strength of that one particular comment.
I thought is was funny as hell, because it epitomized some of the goings on during some
so called selling out period in Hip Hop.Go to 3:02

yeah - i never heard of the 90's being labelled a "sell out period"....but you know how that goes with the term, "Labels" - everyone trying to label everything....put names on stuff...call something, "this", "that" or the "other". I actually loved the 90's era of rap music....although there was some lame moments, within that era (musically) - but, you're gonna get that in any genre of music - in any era of genres....

....as well as in any genre, in any.each form of art.

anyways - i peeped this vid from 3:02....it's shit like this that annoys me about Flex. Useless rants, IMO.

Yeah,P that's why I dropped the phrase "so called' before I refered to him clownin'
on Hammer and Young MC.I think he got his era's a little mixed up.As I remember the mid nineties
was the lyrical goldmine.IMHO, No rap from any era can touch 94-96.
But that is just my personal opinion.I just posted for this comic relief.
And yes...what can be more annoying than somebody cutting off the
record right after he drops it to go into a rant.It didn't serve any purpose.
He said he was in the 90s strong. So us as listeners already got the point.
I was just hopin' that he'd play the darn record.

Check it, you heard about the supposed beef between him and DJ Clue?
What was that all about? Did something happen between the stations Hot 97 and Power 95?
Cue me up

Peace, Bro.

^^^ I was still in NYC during this time, but didn't know about the beef - don't remember it. Not sure if it had to do with radio station beef...or prior to both of them getting put on the radio, and had mixtape-game, beef (when mixtapes was on actually cassette tapes)...althought Flex was actually coming out with beats and put the rapper, Nine, on (then know as Nine Double M).

It was probably so minor, that only them (and thier crews) knew about it. What i do know is...I was copping more of Clue's, DJ Juice and S&S mixtapes (off of 125th) over Flex's joints, during the mid-90's.

Ok, you know how I am Uptown,Mr.Inquisitive and thangs haha...
I just love to soak up knowledge. So I have to ask you to break down the differences on why
you was diggin' on Clue more than Flex in dem 90s.
Did you feel Flex's routines and choices of records were outdated?
Or was there something that Clue does in his mixes that is just better than
Flex's flow?Or was it for different reasons?

Peace to ya
