Was this the turning point?
Was this really the one album that introduced the official changeover from Hip Hop to Hip Pop?
Was you diggin' Lauryn?
Do you feel that her and Fugees are cemented in Hip Hop lore, or did they do enough?
Do you feel like She shooting starred her success?
Or do you think She was just affected by being blessed with the ability to Rap
and the ability to sing which inturn split the possibility of her going longterm in either R & B or
Hip Hop straight up?

a lot of questions, but for #3 - #6 and keeping it simple... i can say that the girl went bananas...

but on top of that...the shorty who's in the TV show, The Walking Dead (with the samarai swords) looks alot like L-Boogie, to me...LOL

I always loved Lauryn...respected her as a lyricist,a singer, and as a beautiful dark skinned sister who did not in any shape or form conform to standards of beauty set by the industry...or by the (headwrap wearin' Black women either) she always did her...

Wyclef was known for his creativity, and innovation.I loved how all his records were infused with the sounds and rhythm of the Caribbean and his homeland Haiti. Pras was just there. A homie that went along for the ride..(not mad at all) Together they made a great trio...
Lauryn, was the standout, the Beyonce of the Fugeees...
The Miseducation Of LH ia a classic record.Sonically it was solid, the theme-unrequited love,heatbreak...it spoke to women everywhere, well crafted rhymes delivered with just enough bravado that didn't diminish her feminity coupled with her beauty attracted the fellas...Oprah had just offed her a part in a movie "Beloved" with Danny Glover and other great actors..it seemed like she couldn't lose..

I started to notice that around award season ..she began making these sanctimous remarks "Rappers shouldn't be coming up on stages Thanking God when they are disrespecting women.." yadda yadda yadda
Her album title would ring true in more ways than one.Literally, The miseducation of Lauren Hill was her undoing...She wrote a few checks that unfortunately her vagina had to cash....I knew it the ball had burst when she released that UNplugged album. The tracks seemed disjointed and just depressing...clearly she thought so too because when they taped the segment for MTV she cried through the entire performance..

I have not heard her sing live recently but folks say she has definitely lost her magic...I personally don't think she will ever make another album Like MOLH ...especially since the producers and writers who helped create that had to sue for monies owed for work done...A tragedy indeed...

That's the saddest part of the entertainment business, we either lose our stars or they exit
the game leaving us with the unfulfilled feeling of that they could have done so much more.

Peace to you.
