Lauryn Hill Finally Responds To Wyclef Jean’s Autobiography…Sort Of
Nov 12, 2012 4 By Jonathan Hailey, Assistant Editor

Former Fugees member Wyclef Jean has been promoting his explosive autobiography, “Purpose.” Part of the appeal of the book is Jean’s claims Lauryn Hill tried to tell him he was the father of her first child before she found out it was Rohan Marley‘s. Lauryn Hill finally responded to Wyclef’s claims during a stop on her joint tour with Nas.

Besides Wyclef Jean’s accusations about Hill’s sexual irresponsibility, Jean also claimed Hill was the main reason The Fugees remains broken up is because of Ms. Hill. in the book, he goes on to say he believes Lauryn Hill suffers from Bi-polar Disorder. Though many were hoping for an immediate response to Wyclef’s words, Hill hasn’t said too much of anything concerning the matter.

Hill finally addressed the book in her signature odd fashion. Lauryn Hill took some time out of her set during the “Life is Good/Black Rage Tour” to subliminally check Wyclef. Hill stated:

When you are on the other side of liberation, just make sure you are not late. Be careful how you judge, there is a lot of deception out there. A lot of misunderstanding out there. A lot of miscommunication out there. A lot of false information out there. And notice, out of all the people who talk talk talk, who’s the silent one. There’s a lot of chat, but me….

And you know why? Let me tell you why I don’t chat back. Because I know that my brothers and my sisters are often times pawns in a bigger scheme so when they, under pressure, attack me, I love them still. It’s called the high road. Try taking it sometimes.

I’m not going to play my hand like the suppressive system would have me play my hand. Because I know [about] the oppression that took place in Haiti, and Jamaica, and America, and Africa and Europe. So just be patient. The truth always surfaces and especially, all you black folks out there who have had black mothers who carried you through thick and thin, when the system wanted to call them crazy, just remember that…

You know I know I’m not crazy, that’s why I can use the word so freely. Crazy like a fox? Ahead of the curve. People don’t like people that’s ahead of the curve but unfortunately that’s not my problem.

Basically, Lauryn Hill told Wyclef and anybody else judging her to mind your damn business! What do you think about Lauryn Hill’s response?

Yeah Hiphopchiq you were right on point with your comments, I agree that she was the strongest member.

I manually added you guys to the 100 plus club, I have to flip on the group manually for some reason Uptowns was reset and BM31 you are now good to go.

That mugshot pic\court pics of LH is NOT a good look for her, she'd tell me to fuck off for saying it because I'm saying something she'd claim was the reason she went into hiding "males sexualizing her image" but I happen to think that she is a beautiful woman when not dressed up like granny good-witch. She would be mad at such comments but I think there ain't nothing wrong with a man thinking that a woman looks better with long hair or a slightly shorter non-hippy dress. That covers her ankles practically, I've seen nuns reveal more skin then that getup. Some women look better with short hair, IMO she ain't one of them.

Also, slightly related, does anyone think that the more crazy an artist is the more talented they appear to be. It's like they are SO creative and different and uber sensitive and crazy but that's kinda what makes them make such good music.

Other examples of some slightly cukoo yet unarguably talented musicians that either became their own victims or went into hiding or lost their marbles a few times...

Michael Jackson (we love him, but how many times did we say WTF at what he was doing and saying when he was alive)
Prince (the stories about this guy makes you scratch your head)
Lee Scratch Perry (burnt down his own studio and OG tapes when he flipped out years ago)
Kool Keith (former Mental Patient and rediculous lyric writer "OH shit there's a horse in the hospital!)
Phil Spector (Produced thousands of top notch hits and was arrested for child porn)
Jim Morrison, Sly Stone, James Brown, Sid Vicious, all have skeletons in their closet.

again, not trying to hijack the thread, but maybe she owes her craziness factor for her success.

...other could argue that maybe her craziness factor was the reason for her downfall...

I think she fell off the deep end after MOLH....and there was alot of people that were responsible for the success of that album.

good looking out the troubleshooting, homeboy (Teacher's Lounge). double thumbs up

Bitch Please..
yes I had to get gully and call her out of her name....
Irrespective of whatever "supressive systems" and oppression that exists the fact remains that you slept with two married men and went on to have several children by one of them...no judgement ,just facts...your career has suffered ,your voice has suffered and your fans have suffered for you have failed to take any accountability for anything that has transpired. Her hardcore fans have rocked with her. They continuously show up at her shows where she pulls these shenanigans and she continues to behave self-righteously and indignant and entitled...I cannot stomach her (RANT OVER-WELL,MAYBE)
