^As you can see, the nice fat straight red and white RCA jacks that connect my deck stick out too far, they push my turntables away from my mixer and put strain on the jacks on my right deck and stick out too far on my left.

I don't want a 90 degree RCA jack adapter because that's just another potential point of failure. I would much rather have heavy duty RCA jacks with the 90 degree built in.

^I'm looking for something better than these flimsy ones you can find for 10 bucks on amazon.

I want something fat with gold tips. Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure , but those look like Live Wire brand cables . Over the years , I have bought tons of expensive RCA cables , but I always have the best results out of my cheap I Live Wire cables . I usually cop them from Guitar Center for $10 or less . I'm now expert , so anybody else is free to chime in here ...

You could also make your own using the cables and connectors of your choice, which I'm sure you know how to do. Different types of Belden coax will make good RCAs. Main thing I would look for is decent shielding and an all copper conductor. Canare makes good RCA connectors. Not sure who makes the right angle connectors. I think Parts Express stocks a lot of this stuff too if you just want to make your own.

The last set of cables I bought came from a guy that operates on ebay called "Complete Cable Concepts". He will make cables to order with whatever Belden coax you want that he has. Not sure if he sells right angle connectors though. You could contact him through eBay and see what he says.

At $2.50 per gold plated heavy duty RCA adapter the deal was too good to pass up. The site is a little old school looking, but the service is top notch, they shipped right away. I have no qualms about buying from them again.

RESULT: Not only did it fix my problem with jacks sticking out and pushing my decks away from the mixer, but the sound quality improved immediately. I think that's because the RCAs aren't so restricted and smashed up against my mixer, so there's less noise from that alone.

BTW: At first I bought these before LM responded.

Xscorpion 3TR RCA Cable 3' Blue Triple Shielded W/Remote Wire

DO NOT BUY THESE THEY ARE JUNK.^

I bought them because they were all in one cable and 45 degree adapter and because they were advertised as triple shielded. Well they don't tell you how flimsy the wire gauge is and you can't tell by the picture. They are much thinner and cheaper than my stock RCAs that came with the decks. As soon as I put them on I heard noise.

RESULT: Terrible. If I ever decide to hook up a VCR to my TV maybe I'll use these for that audio but they are not HQ audio cables at all. JUNK.

I still plan on buying those cables at Blue Jean Cables or the 3' Belden 1505A High Quality cables which are cheaper once I get a little more cash.

I'll drop words on the cables I chose here once I get a chance to buy and test them out.

thumbs up
