If you're like me and pay attention to where new records are pressed and who cut them, take a look at this YouTube series:

Of course, most of this concerns newly manufactured records and pressing plants currently in operation. Things don't really get interesting until the second video but all these are worth checking out.

Watched . I'm gonna check out some more of these . I honestly never really gave the dead wax much attention except for the punk 7s I used to get that had some sort of F**k you message scratched in . But it's never too late to learn something new . Nice post !!

^Over the past couple of years I have started to pay more and more attention to this kind of stuff. I'm pretty much at the point where I won't buy a brand new record unless I know where it is pressed and who mastered first. This way, I know what to expect based on experience.

Honestly , I never knew how to tell where it was pressed , but I used to be a lot more picky about my vinyl . Lately , I have been getting what I can afford and hoping for the best . I've made out pretty good under that philosophy ( with 2 or 3 exceptions ) . Since we had my daughter I have been as cautious as I can make myself be with my spending. I still have to get my fix though ...

I just watched some more of this series . I was sad to see the bad review of United Record Pressing . Since they are local to me , I would have like to see them in a better light , but if they are dropping the ball , it's nice to know it ...
