Hi All--
Recently I was gifted a Technics FG SERVO ATS SL-BD22. It is belt driven and the belt it came with was loose, therefore I purchased a new belt and needle. Once I put the belt on the platter would not spin, unless I spinned it manually. Even then, the platter would eventually come to a stop.
I am not sure where to go from here. When I do take the belt off and move the stylus arm, the spindle does move just fine. I am considering maybe the new belt is too tight? Thoughts? Thanks!!
***Update: Since the spindle was spinning on its own, I tugged on the new belt to stretch it out a little. It turns out the belt was a bit tight. When i put it on, the platter begin to spin. SOLVED.
