Trust me, GMM...It (Hip hop, soul, funk, reggae) was ALREADY in you.
It's just that some thing or someone or some event happened down the line to bring it out.
Your bloodline is rockin' some serious multi-culture,fam.
Poland,Sweden,Iran,Pakistan...there is a myriad of unique musical instrumentation and interpretation within these cultures!!So I am interested in to HOW exactly did you come to love what you love in taste of music.
What created this world for you??

Well Beatmaster, I think you're right. It was already in me, it had to be. Thinking back, most of my favorite songs as a child had either a clear and loud drumbeat or a rhythmic baseline, so it was always about the rhythm for me, from day one. Even in rock songs I always liked those with a massive drumbeat more than any other. With hip hop I found constant rhythm and that was it. It grew from there to the other genres. My mom used to listen mainly to polish progg rock from the 60's and 70's. My father wasn't really musical. He had some qawwali albums on tape and the holy Quran sang in arabic compiled onto about 30 tapes and that was it. My iranian friends mostly listened to some ethnic pop or domestic dance techno type stuff which sucked pretty bad. Some of the ethnic stuff had interessting and rhytmic percussions though so it wasn't all bad. Swedish music? Nah, apart from some early 80's punk and a few rap joints it's nothing to get excited about and is mostly very pretentious.
