I haven't been in here for while because life is kicking my arse right now..hasn't been a good year for me so far.

I would guess at the simplest change that could bring traffic here would be to change the name of the site.

Newcomers into any kind of music are not going to stumble into the place searching crate digging as a keyword..anyone who knows the term probably has a place online they reside already.

DWG was actually borne from the death of other boards(Vinyl Exchange/Spinemusic). It was also started by 3 people, whereas R-Check is doing this alone. They started relatively small but the vinyl releases REALLY got their name out there and increased traffic.

I would say that you really need to stop and work out what you REALLY want. Are you just looking for a place that is yours for people to hang-out,discuss and learn from each other or do you want to become a "brand"?? Do you have the time to market? Do you have a product that you think you could produce and sell without losing money over?? Do you have the connections to be able to produce something that people will fiend for??
That would make this place grow but is far from easy and hugely time-consuming..


The other option is to make a retarded viral video that could get on YT or Tosh.o that somehow advertises the site!!!

I'm not criticizing at all. But as others have said Creativity/finding a niche somehow is a starter.

Whatever it is, is far from easy.

So far , the main problem here ( with the current members ) is that we all have real lives that we can't help getting caught up in sometimes . If we didn't want to participate , then most of us would have stopped a long time ago . So I agree that it would help to get some new blood in here to fill the gaps . For me personally , it seems like every time I am out digging , I end up meeting new people and talking music . I think maybe that could be a good opportunity for me to spread the word to some new folks . Gonna have to start taking advantage of that .
@ Boombap , post up what you like homie . It helps to widen the spectrum here .
@ Rchecka , it will get there ... Look at how many people bothered to poke there head in here to try to help . I think there may always be lulls , but I think with time more people will join and help build .

I'm not worried about branding as this is, in a nutshell, a non-profit. I think branding is possible but I'm not looking to market I'll let the "brand" come when it comes as it comes into it's own.

No at time, no at product, no at connections. That's why I need investors and partners. Whoever wants to help me jump start this off would have be willing to take a risk and sacrifice time. That, I fully understand, is a tall order.

I'm extremely unlikely to do something like that. I have a youtube presence but it's all over the map. And I don't have any goats that yell like men but if I did I would set up my turntables and a camera on me scratching goat noises to antagonize them if that's retarded enough for you.

It will get there, that's true, but you probably would agree it will get there only if our regular members keep on contributing as often as their free time allows. Lulls are one thing, 3 month lulls are another altogether. Hopefully that's about to change.
