Hey folk. Rchecka stumbled upon me over on imgur, and thought I could contribute to this forum. I'm an Australian who travels a lot (CBR, other homebases being MNL and ORD), so I do get to a fair amount of record travelling around the place.

I've been a DJ for a very long time - but it's something I started doing because I had a record collection (as opposed to collecting records to DJ with - it's a specific distinction). I like to think I'm the twilight years of my DJing, so have recently given up my 12 year residency at one joint, and doing a lot more specific DJ sets as well as radio spots. My collection is in the five figure range. I stopped buying LPs about eight or so years ago and have mainly been concentrating on 45s. I've got a turntable, hi fi and head fi fetish to go along with the record collection. I've got a huge CD collection as well, but that's tucked away in storage.

In regards to music, I cover a vast range, but over the last decade my tastes have been more about rockabilly, rhythm n blues, rock n roll 1953-63, and have departed from my jazz / funk / soul 1968-78. I have a huge chunk of UK punk, post-punk, grindcore and American hardcore too, which I still have a spot for.

When it comes to singles, I'm a label junkie - about 350+ King / Federal records (inc. 200ish James Brown singles), 200+ Sun Records, 150+ Chess / Checker singles ... you get the idea. Currently all about Decca, London, W&G Austraian pressings. For LP labels - Black Jazz, CTI, Blue Note, Verve, Vertigo.

Anyway, let's dig.
