It's no longer an oxymoron to say vintage mp3s, there is a treasure trove of mp3s that are truly underground. Maybe they never were for sale and they never will be for sale. They never made it to physical media like CDs or tapes or wax. A lot of it is bootleg material, some of them are demos, some unofficial mixtapes, or rippings of OG CD-Rs, or old school tapes that someone uploaded a long time ago. They might be singles or EPs that never made it past the payola hurdles. Detox rejects anyone?

Maybe a few lucky mp3 vultures were on the ball one day and copped some exclusive music before the record labels busted the link and then it never got dropped at all because the record labels were on some other shit.

Post your vintage mp3s here...

Qualifications for member upload links here: (legalities)

  1. First and foremost, no longer for sale. (make sure it's not on Amazon or Itunes)
  2. Almost impossible to find a link for it anywhere. (IE upload it yourself to a third party host, IE sendspace, soundcloud, etc.)
  3. Once hyped, but now forgotten download links.
  4. Slept on, never got props download links.
  5. Never got dropped on official proper physical media (12"s, EPs, LPs, CDs)
  6. The artist takes no credit for it anywhere other then his or her Myspace archives.
  7. Unofficial or officially out of print mixtapes qualify.
  8. Old School mixtapes absolutely qualify.
  9. Your own mixtapes or productions are NOT allowed (If it's that good, start your own thread for it, we welcome that)
  10. Make damn sure the artist doesn't come after our asses for posting it here.
  11. Please test your links before posting them here. Try to keep shady links (viruses, etc.) off this forum. (Anything that propagates spyware or viruses will get deleted to protect our members).
  12. It goes without saying that spam is NOT allowed here.
  13. Hip Hop or any other genre allowed (as long as you think it's dope, drop it.)

BTW:These rules aren't written in stone, (except the first one for obvious legal purposes) just try to keep it a little obscure, after all, anyone can Google the current obvious mp3s and get em, its the ones from years ago that are hard to find, so help us dig deeper by following those general guidelines listed above.

I guess it's only fair if I start. I googled this and everything I saw came up in a foreign language so I guess this will qualify. I also noticed it comes up as "unofficial release" in discogs too.

A super dope mixtape from way back in 2007 (<I think) from a crew called Okizoo.
I can't find an active link anywhere. This is one of those mixes worth burning to disc for your ride.

Click now or forever hold your peace.

Instant Download

Anyone else got links?
Try to dig through your hard drive for the older stuff you can't get anymore.

This one is out there, but I wouldn't wanna click any of those shady google links, the ones I have already checked are dead links anyway.

This mix is spectacular by the way. Don't know how the DJs Jamad & Floyd the Locsmif were able to drop such fire, frankly, this is one hot joint.

FreddieOk, gang, your turn!
