If it's a non-mixed compilation, then yeah, I would. Because it's no different to someone playing a track they got off a CD copy of an Ultimate Breaks And Beats. If it's mixed already, then no, because it's already been mixed.
Take it back to the very basics - every piece of wax you own has been assembled / compiled by someone else so that you can access the music, so if a DJ decides to put a compilation out of unmixed tracks then why shouldn't you use a track from it?

However, I mix, scratch, rinse doubles and do my own blends - both on mixtapes and playing out live, and I don't play other people's mixes and pretend that they're my own.

I hope you didn't bother reading that whole thread at DJF, it went on way too long and heads started rolling. I agree that non mixed compilations (if it doesn't have a DJ Drop all over it) aint so bad, but like you said, mixed songs should be off the table. Once a DJ does his thing with a finished mix, I always leave it alone. There is so much great music in original format out there I don't feel any need to jack other DJs. At one point, the OP over there was asking how to mask out DJ drops originally on a mixtape, he edited it, then after a whole lot of backpedaling suddenly he was changing the tune saying it was an unmixed mixtape and wanted to cloud the whole debate. I wasted a whole lot of time on that thread, and in hindsight, obviously I got nothing out of it cuz the posers already made up their minds that jacking was aok.
