Just copped this last night.

WTNG 89.9 FM -- Solid Bronze (Numero Records) 2012 Record Store Day



^Another quality Numero record, seems like this label does nothing half-assed. This one like all others attention to details is evident. Packaging is superior, it has a consistent theme, the pressing is fat, the tunes are underappreciated unearthed gems from never-never land. You pay for quality, they ain't cheap, so being a completionist is expensive but definitely rewarding.


I used to try to buy everything with their name on it but I can't keep up any more they drop more and more every month.

Essentially the mission of this label is to legitimately re-release old forgotten or undiscovered soul artist's work. They find really old tapes and 45s and compile them in high quality comps. I saw a DVD of the owner traveling around the country, going to the homes of near-dead Soul crooners and offering them paychecks right in their front yard. Then they do investigative work just to find and pay these guys, some of them already dead, so they find the next of kin and pay them instead. It's an honorable label, and personally what I could consider my dream job.

I see them , but I have never picked them up. Guess I'm slippin . I have however been waiting for "The Bandit Label" to be released on vinyl . I was told by the guys at Numero that it will be released in late August or September . I can't wait .

As it was just pointed out to me by Rchecka , I do own one Numero joint. My head's not in the game today.

It's a pretty good one too!! Good lookin Joe.

Syl Johnson is Chicago's "Soul Star" doesn't surprise me that Numero would drop that 7 inch package and the over the top complete sessions either...
