Listening to some Mellotron keyboard on an old psych album right now... Man what a weird but sweet sound...

There are so many brands and styles of electronic pianos throughout the years, some like the Moog are part synth, part random electronic signal processing. nerd Then you got all the modern controllers that can do anything, and everything.

So for the producers or inspiring producers and or musicians...

If you could have only one Keyboard in your hands which one would you choose?

Show a pic, and elaborate. Rock On

I'll be cliche and expected: Fender Rhodes hands down, no question.

It has such a unique but versatile sound that it can be played on every track and not feel played out (as you know some of those keyboard sounds get old after a song or two). The main reason though honestly is that it's a sound I came up on musically, Steely Dan and Stevie Wonder in particular (both of them well before my time mind you but I was raised on these guys) really made me want one as I grew up playing piano.

It's also an instrument that immediately piques an interest for me when record-shopping, obviously tons of wackness was put down on the Rhodes but when I see one in the credits I'm prone to do some needle skipping.

After that it would have to be a Hammond Organ or an early and simply Moog. If it's gotta be ONE keyboard, it's gotta be a staple IMO.

The Hammond Organ H 112 Model from 1967,
The one Mark Stein used to rock with the group Vanilla Fudge (Keep me hangin on')

I would lose my mind on this thing, they would have to come and commit me after about 36 hours of straight playing I would probably turn into some Hip Hop version of Dr. Phibes or something.((giggle))
