Sat through it on your recommendation,RC.
(wondering why you have not used RC Cola in your avatars yet?) just a thought.
Dug his honesty.I personally never got into metal or punk.I'm strictly percussive orientated.
But I felt the detachment from him and his pops and grands.I like how he mentioned that he was in a country club,
but they was playing rap music and everbody was dancing.haha.His story was interesting, but I do not know if he generally
falls into the category of cratediggin as we know it.He's more of a hybrid between collector and a musician that came across some things along the way.Anyways....that was my two cents.

Peace.

Yeah, he'll never use records to make beats I don't think, but his story was pretty interesting, no doubt.

I don't know about you guys, but in a way, I was a little appalled that he never listened to his grand dad's private pressing record that he showed early in that clip. He was like "It could be anything, it could be him playing the guitar or whatever." I was thinking, "damn, what you waiting for drop a needle on that shit!" I think Hank Williams Sr. had some amazing music, that was back when Country was good and HWSr. was the Elvis Presley of his day. He was just so detached from his family roots, for better or for worse, I don't think he wanted to hear it.worried

This might be a good episode, but after seeing Hank 3 in the Whites movie, I can't take him seriously anymore.

Yes, that theme kind of followed him throughout the interview. To tell you the truth,RC.
There is really only about 2 or 3 excerpts from the cratediggin series that I either just flat out liked or respected the architect due to the knowledge of the author or the historical relationship abound. That was Jazzy Jay, Pete Rock and Diamond D..

Yes, Hank disappointed a little.I enjoyed listening to his grandfather's music.I was a big Tennesee Ernie Ford fan also.
Shenandoah one of my favorite all time records.I dug a lot of country because they sang the same lyrics as rhythm and Blues singers. So there was an easy relation.

I like the RC Cola avatar..good job
(For those in the know..RC was a big soft drink that rivaled Coke and Pepsi in it's hey day in New York City
in the 70s.They had a lot of jingles on tv and sponsed the New York Mets.
