This 'kend whilst in Madison I stopped at Strictly Discs twice. (my older blog writeup about it)

Needless to say, twice is never enough, I could spend DAYS digging in that place.

I found an unbelievable variety of punk 7" singles and I picked a bunch up for next to nothing...

^Instead of reviewing each of these singles I'll make a blanket statement. I scored! All of these are pretty great, I am liking the fact that in the crate digging world not much value is placed on this niche so therefore I paid way less than what they are worth. I think the most I spent on one of these was 3 bucks. Someday, when the rest of the world figures out how great and how rare these records are, it will be too late as I will have already snatched them all up for cheap! P.O.N.K. 3 will be a good one, mark my words.

Various Artists - Ninja Tune and If Music Presents LP (Ninja Tune) 2013 RSD

^NICE! Found this for 29, not a great deal but well worth it for some of these priceless Ninja Tune chunes. The Mr Scruff remix of Herbie Hancock is amazing.

Boogie Monsters - God Sound Promo 2LP (Pendulum Records) 1997

8 dollars for this monster of a slept on Hip Hop LP? Hell YEAH I'll take it. I don't have the underwater album yet, that's next, but this is such a dope album. Find this one for sure.

Souls of Mischief - Rock it Like That 12" (Jive) 1995

^Not bad.

Souls Of Mischief - Medication / Acupuncture 12" (Hiero Imperium) 2000

^Not good.

Johnny Pate - Shaft in Africa Soundtrack LP (United Artists) 1973

^One of my best scores of the day. Johnny Pate is the MAN. 8 bucks, sealed original! ((blax)) YOU DAMN RITE!

This is just a few from that day, more later...

My latest scores

Franklyn Ajaye - Comedian lp Decently funny but outdated . Some good vocal samples . He was in carwash , so I had to check it out .

Digable Planets - Blowout Comb 2 lp This is the first copy I have of this on vinyl ( I've always had it on cd ) . I don't think I have to tell any of you how dope this album is ... But just in case , it's ridiculously dope . It also came with an awesome poster and some interesting notes .

Ghostface Killah - Twelve Reasons To Die bundle I'm really feelin this one . I've heard a few people give their thoughts on this one , but I think it's great . Adrian Younge's production is on point . This came with the lp , instrumental lp , 2cd vocal/instrumentals , Apollo Brown remix tape ( haven't listened to it yet in fear that my cassette player may eat it ) , a poster , a comic book , and a t-shirt ( which was the wrong size ... FU Soul Temple ) .

Adrian Younge presents - Something About April All I can say is I'm a believer . Such a good album !! Definitely worth the cop ..
Amerigo Gazaway - Bizarre Tribe .. A Quest To The Pharcyde 2lp This is a good concept ( beats made from samples of tracks that had been previously sampled by ATCQ with blended vocals from Bizzare Ride 2 ) . Although it seems like it would be , it's not very gimmicky . Definitely a good listen . I've still got my eyes open for another copy Rchecka ..

^Ahh, the infamous Killah package finally arrived. LOL
Looks pretty cool though.

Hows the quality of that Digable Planets repress, that sound nice?

^^ the sound quality is great and it's on heavy vinyl !! As for the Bizarre Tribe , not so much . The sound isn't terrible , but with it being a bootleg , it doesn't improve on the vinyl pressing . The same quality as the mp3 . I know you didn't ask , but I thought ai would throw that out there .
