When I first found out about that album , I was blown away by the prices I was seeing . Then I slept on the Now-Again reissue ( not sure why I put an and in there in my last post ) . Glad I picked it up . It's affordable , and a quality pressing !!

I usually go for older albums or artists who have an older sound . This one however is none of that ..

Ibeyi - selt-titled lp . Please forgive me if I posted this album already, I've had it for a while and I've been MIA for a while . Plus I am entirely too lazy to look... Yoruban Doom Soul is how this album was described . I can see that . Soulful ,but mostly downtempo . There is sad feeling through the album and it touches on the loss of their father ( Anga Diaz of Buena Vista Social Club ) , and their sister . Both have songs in their memory on the album . This is definitely a great listen , especially if you are just chillin' .

I was so bummed out the day this was released. The only store near me carrying the deluxe 2-disc edition had sold their only copy by the time I got there. Two weeks later, I found out it was my wife that had bought it when she gave this to me as an anniversary present.

This is a masterpiece from Bowie's later years. Every song is solid, and they've all held up really well over the years. The second disc has two remixes, one by Moby, one from the French duo AIR, and two other tracks. The song Conversation Piece was originally written in 1969, recorded in 1970, and finally re-recorded in 2002 shortly before this album came out. Panic in Detroit is the 1979 version that was previously released on the 1992 Rykodisc reissue of Scary Monsters.
