Love those pics. I recently set up a flickr group for UK Independents: I wish I'd photographed when I was younger, I visited many little back alley shops that only exist now in the memory banks.by deathhop - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I decided to watch "Beats Rhymes and Life" again last night. I wanted to get nostalgic. The whole thing seemed a bit more poignant in light of Phifes passing. RIPby deathhop - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
I personally think "Bummed" is their best. With the unique production from Martin Hannett and Shaun's lyrical genius probably at its peak.by deathhop - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
This is great, no vinyl at the mo though I'm afraid: "London. 1968. Two pioneering electronic musicians discover a set of unusual recordings which leads to a revelation about their employer. Fascinated by the seemingly occult nature of the tapes they conduct a ritual that will alter their lives forever. So... I missed the point... On another note, I was a quite a fan of the whole thing way back when Rides 1st LP came out. Here's a bit of Lush (another fave). Seeing this live and close up was amazing. It doesnt come across in the vid, but hearing the drums louder in the mix was on some kind of breakbeat tip :by deathhop - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Thanks, I'll check those out.by deathhop - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Ah right. Thanks. I wasn't aware the term had resurfaced. Either way, it sounds like the "current crop" aren't worth investigating.by deathhop - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Wasn't Shoegaze was over by the early 90s? Or am I missing your point?by deathhop - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Yes, definitely got a Krautrock / Psych / Spacey feel to them. Very different to his early solo stuff. I believe the idea behind the first one was to create music for him and his wife to get busy to!!!by deathhop - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Just seen your Teardrop explodes post, have you checked out Copeys "Rite" series? Quite different, well worth trying:by deathhop - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

So my copy finally came, and while its not the crystal clear quality I was looking for, I did discover something new. This LP is the first time it was officially released, and has a little tell tale sign in the runout grooves. I always thought the track ended a little short, but on here there are a few extra seconds. In which, is a radio snip "A Capital Rap show Exclusive" followeby deathhop - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
True, I guess there'll be a DVD if not. But something like this has gotta do well hasnt it? Cant wait to see what they do with Bams records.by deathhop - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Anyone know if they've got plans to come to the UK?by deathhop - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Ill check that out when I have time to take it all in properly. Looks interesting. Just read the rules tho, sorry if I jumped the gun on sharing mixes. My only intention is to spread good music. I'm too old to be bothered about self promo...by deathhop - General Discussion
Yeah man, fully fledged Aging B-Boy. More of a blend DJ than a turntablist. Hope you like....by deathhop - General Discussion
Already commented elsewhere but thought I'd add an intro: 42 from north UK. Old school hip hop head, who like many others then discovered the breaks, diggin etc. Prog, jazz, folk, psyche......... Starting DJing in 88. Started writin about the same time, retired 92ish only to return for a small midlife crisis a few yrs back. Thanks man. To be honest I might break and get it just to know for sure. But I reckon youre probably right. Why would the vinyl have a better quality than the CD ( ) Unless they bootlegged the album for the CD, but they wouldn't would they?by deathhop - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Thanks guys, and yes its the version in the youtube link above. Got it on this one: But it also features here: Anyone got a copy of that? I didnt want to buy and and be disappointed. I've even mailed Tuff City, but not getting a lot of sense there!by deathhop - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Does anyone know where I can find a clean copy of this track? I have the Flavor unit LP reissue with it tagged on the end. But it sounds like its been bootlegged from a cassette. Does a clean copy exist?by deathhop - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
