QuoteDJBoomBap How is healthcare cost rising "affordable", affordable for who? How is saying that the costs have doubled in the past month for the people I know a cop out? I can't afford healthcare now, I still won't be able to afford it when Obamacare kicks in. I used the word "affordable" once in my post to refer to the actual bill at hand (Obamacare), youby vamosarapiar - General Discussion
Before deciding, seriously, TAKE THIS POLL: ^^ A fantastic (and very cool) resource to see what pol. you really side with based on your views (don't just click "yes" or "no" on everything as well if you can help it, pull down the extra options as many of those are viable as well). Now, onto my rant: I'm sorry but what world are you living in that Obama is repby vamosarapiar - General Discussion
Quotehiphopchiq1 I'll be watching the BET hip hop awards tonight...hearing a lot of things I don't want to listen to.. Er...by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
I'll keep the back-to-back-to-back posting going here since I got the day off. Listening to this Freeway/Jake One album from a couple years back, Free's raps can get tiring after a while but Jake One keeps this one going all the way through with nice beats. I went to the album opener for this actually, either way, a relatively nice album from Freeway:by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Just listening to this black/red K-Def again: definitely on par with the other recent K-Def output actually, though its still not touching that Redef Record Club joint. This 7" is another good example of K-Def's layered sampling ability, you almost don't realize how much is going on at times (or how seamlessly sounds come in and out of the track) unless you're really listeningby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
^^^ That was an oddly timed comment about the Action Bronson btw sorry, let me get back to you in a bit about that K-Def as I'm having it a bit confused in my head with another recent drop; personally, that record above it, "The Record Club 45" is one of the dopest releases of the year to me (and its K-Def as well even though it doesn't say so anywhere), if that's still aby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Super dope album but Chopped Herring is bugging with the pricing at times IMO; still, I had to pick this one up since its too dope. One of those things that you cringe while sending the payment but think about what its worth in the long run everytime it gets a spin. I've gotta look for more of Tommy Mas' production.by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Also, add this to one to the list as I'm listening to this while dinner is cooking:by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

This album is just ill! The breakbeats throughout are tough as shit:by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Yup, I'm trying to move 40-50 records in the next month or so...lots of crap, random stuff I'm not interested in and hip-hop singles (etc.) that are just fine but not getting pulled out often enough.by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Also, got an incredibly dope package from Redef today. JNota sent this one out and hooked me up with some real nice and unexpected extras (record, instrumental CD, Damu autograph, etc.). What a dude...by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Haha dope! My day grind is construction work, I work with a general contractor as his go-to assistant/side carpenter and do some drywall/JC/paint subcontracting through him and independently. We do everything from interior renovation (from demo to paint) to roofing and exterior patching. Best of luck with the renovation, you seem like you'll be taking your time and doing it right/careby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Pics of the studio....! Went to a Michael Kiwanuka show last night here in Philly and grabbed the record:by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Haha I appreciate that man! I'm supposed to be doing a little interview with Rodriguez (the guy from that story) soon so I'll keep ya updated. I highly recommend going to see the movie (though I may have spoiled it for any readers)...they do a good job but after doing a little fact-checking/research a lot of the facts/chronology/info is inconsistent and sacrificed for a compelling narraby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

Hey thanks for the heads up, I've actually had my eye on that one. I just wanna clarify, would I be able to use this to record from a mixer or would it be only capable of connection to the computer straight from the TT? If I was gonna have to use the mixer OUT to the computer bypassing this piece of equipment then maybe its worth thinking about getting a nice external soundcard that woulby vamosarapiar - General Discussion
Really thinking about your Bellari suggestion...haven't been able to find that many reviews online but I was looking at all the stores that carried them recently. Would I be able to use that single Bellari if I added another table to my set-up or would I still need another preamp? For the time being it seems like it would be a good, expandable option. For now I would be able to just ripby vamosarapiar - General Discussion
I'll admit, I cannot stand "Freefalling" (just pure oversaturation there though for the most part) and I haven't done that much exploration into his catalogue.by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
You're definitely right on the quality, I tend to buy for longterm use and compatibility...looking into that Bellari now, appreciate the tip.by vamosarapiar - General Discussion
Phew, some thinking to do I suppose! Thanks for the advice, gonna do some more research and report back with questions of course.by vamosarapiar - General Discussion
Just the one output sorry.by vamosarapiar - General Discussion
The Preamp accepts the turntables output (coming IN) and has one other OUT going straight to the receiver. I don't have a mixer as I'm really not doing anything but listening for the most part. The NAD is just an in-between since my receiver doesn't have a PHONO in (or place for the ground wire).by vamosarapiar - General Discussion
Hey, figured this would be a good place to ask a simple question. I've got a bunch of wax that I want to bring with me on the road/to work sometimes; I've also been tasked with making a compilation of African tracks for a friend (since I've only got the one turntable it won't exactly be a mix). So, what's the easiest way to about doing this? My set-up is as folloby vamosarapiar - General Discussion
All the recent K-Def output has been really great, happy I copped these:by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Sorry didn't see this, yeah this was dope as hell! I saw DJ JS1 at Big City's closing in NYC a couple weeks ago. We ended up talking for a while about this mix (and hip-hop in general, the bullshit that needs to be waded through to be a DJ today, his current projects etc.) and he talked about what a project this mix was...clearly proud of the outcome. Very nice guy and was happy to gby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
