Damn eiki, crazy collection there! I know that that type of collection isn't easy to build up so I'm sure you're especially proud of it, thanks for the pics.by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
What's up eiki! Welcome aboard from abroad! I'm new to this site yet myself but there is certainly gonna be no opposition to more knowledgeable heads and discussion around these parts. Stay up!by vamosarapiar - General Discussion
I've been getting down to this African disco shit all day long after writing a small blog write-up for it:by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Yeah I don't know what's good with that, it showed up fine on DWG and elsewhere? Something going with the embed here maybe?by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Some picks from a shop that my brother and I stumbled upon while visiting family over the holiday...nothing crazy or rare but some things I'm happy to add to my collection without breaking the bank on the whole lot: Gil Scott Heron - The Mind of Gil Scott Heron Billy Preston - Music Is My Life Grover Washington Jr. - A Secret Place (Kudu) Quincy Jones - Smackwater Jack Herbie Hancby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

QuoteBM31 Jorge Ben,Tim Maia,Milton Nascimento All staples and favorites. Wish I had more on wax but its easy to go over board quickly looking for OG pressings. I got in contact with a seller down in Brazil recently who could get a lot of things on my wantlist (including an OG of Jorge Ben "Forca Bruta" and some Tim Maia as well) but its just not worth the prices sometimes. Repressby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Yo, Brazilian music fans must peep this recent (last couple years I guess) reissue (unless you're really down and got a OG, in which case you should probably sell/give me that). Very dope. I grabbed this in Paris earlier this year actually because I didn't wanna pony up buying it online and paying for shipping, when I saw it in a record store in Paris I figured I was saving money in somby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Quoteuptownkid LOL - i wish I could add to this topic, but i might want to use the ones that I know that haven't used yet....LOL Haha word, agreed.by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^^ nice! I"m ashamed to admit I don't have a copy of that second album.by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I think this may be one of the best soul albums ever created...sooo good!by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Quotehiphopchiq1 @uptownkid Is there such a thing as grown woman's rap? Just being facetious...maybe lol I just mentioned/posted about this album on here recently but that Akua Naru is some grown woman's shit. And to be completely honest, I don't think there's necessarily a difference between grown man's and grown woman's rap. Obviously hip-hop in general caters toby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Quoteuptownkid what rap caters to grown men? examples, please. peace. First time I listened to Foreign Exchange the thought that this was some "grown man ish" really did pop into my head. The same goes for Phonte's solo outing "Charity Starts At Home:" talking about hard work, the work that a relationship takes, building/maintaining/sustaining a family (andby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
This album is killer in my book. The way they did this with strings and horns in places is nice. Akua Naru is a very serious writer, her voice ends up a bit breathy at times and her emphasis doesn't always end up on the actual rhyme but it sounds really dope and personal in the end. She's clearly very poetic and spoken-word oriented in her delivery. Glad to grab on wax, a bit prby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

!!!, gotta cop that on wax. Just listened to the (Redef) Quartermaine album, real nice!by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Not too familiar with his solo work, will check those links out tomorrow thanks. I actually just pulled out The Royal Scam not long ago primarily for "The Fez" and "Hatian Divorce." Those two might be my favorites of their catalogue.by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Billy Joel is that dude that represents the cheesiest of my guilty pleasures (or maybe my favorite artist who truly represents the best of what "the cheese" has to offer). Well I haven't been able to keep up with your posts BM31 but am slowly catching up haha.In any case, interesting thread and I've enjoyed reading everyone's responses. I'll tack mine on below:by vamosarapiar - General Discussion
Good thread, big Brazilian music fan here, got seriously caught up after studying Brazilian and Argentinian music in college under a great Professor. Even though its been some years since I started listening I'm still only dipping my toes in..that said, when going to a record store Brazilian records are always near the top of the list. It's a great music to listen to given the reallyby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Quoteuptownkid with all this recent K-Def talk...i had to break out the ultimate K-Def release.....his beats on this album didn't get any consistant and fresher, IMO. peace. I actually don't have either of these K-Def albums, I'm ashamed. He's so slept on, just listened to the latest K-Def Redef release and it is amazingly dope!!! (per usual)by vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Also, I'm listening to the Roy Ayer's "Coffy" soundtrack right now actually. I only bought this a month or so ago and I've been rinsing it repeatedly!by vamosarapiar - General Discussion
New here myself but welcome to BM31.by vamosarapiar - General Discussion
Man I LOVE the Marvin Gaye soundtrack to Trouble Man, admittedly never saw the movie. I'll be honest, I have a bunch of Blaxpoitation soundtracks that I love and never saw the movie.by vamosarapiar - General Discussion

Quotehiphopchiq1 Um I thought I told y'all to check out Cassidy in that BET cypher, even though the cypher segment itself is not authentic,he has definitely sharpened up his skills. My fav right now is Murda Mook and I would personally love to see him destroy Meek...y'all know I'm not the biggest fan of his.. I'll be completely honest, I think you're bugging, Cassidyby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
^^ He's already there IMO (and commercially he just debuted at #2 so I"m not sure where else he can go). What are you listening to by him? The latest album is good IMO, every third track is weak (yup I cracked the formula haha). People have been catching up to him but don't go back and listen to his earlier work (starting at Section 80 isn't putting much work in), Kendrby vamosarapiar - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
