Hey there,
I finally found a place to live and so I finally have time and a place to work on new music!
I built this routine for the Kid Koala 12 Bit Blues contest. I'm looping straight off the flexi into an Ableton Live looper using some funky routing on my mixer. That's why I'm trying to get a cooler one
If you like the routine please give it Thumbs Up on youtube an

On the scratch solo there's the Toddy Tee vocal sample, and on top a 2nd looping vocal sample which I still haven't found, so I lifted it from the original.

Built this UNKLE cover a few months ago using as many of the original samples I could get my hands on and finally got round to recording it with my live performance setup.
Samples:
Byron Davis & The Fresh Krew - Now Dance (Instrumental)
Newcleus - Let's Jam
Grace Jones - Operattack
Toddy Tee feat. Mixmaster Spade - Do You Wanna Go to the Liquor Store
Technicolor - Channel On

Wow, I'm checking what's on each and picking one per record is HARD, some of these are super close picks.
License To Ill - Girls. This shit just cracks me up and I think it's the first Beasties song I heard
Paul's Boutique - Hey Ladies
Check Your Head - Pass The Mic. I love MCA's first lines in it, now a bit more.
Ill Communication - Root Down. If you can, pick up t

So glad I got to see them live a few months before they found out about his cancer. Easily one of my favorite concerts ever.

Sweet collection. Those pic records are great lol! The handmade series looks so good, missed out on that one.
BTW, I forgot to get my The Less You Know, The Better vinyl in the pic . Really like it, specially after watching his set at Boilerroom using the original records he sampled for it.

Just got Endtroducing..., Preemptive Strike and the 4-Track era ones in the mail. The 4th one is my copy of the Def Surrounds Us/I've Been Trying 100 copy single released through the site, signed at his concert. Probably the hardest to find record I own.
A bit of a fan here... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The "Danke Schön/As Usual" one is big band vocal jazz, it's really good. The other two sound more like big orchestra pop records from (maybe) early 70's. Found them in the world music 45s of a local record store.
The Giorgio Moroder one is synth based disco, and the Savoy Sultans is straight up big band jazz.

It's the same tactic Gizmodo uses in the tech world. They probably get paid by the hit, and what better way to get tons of those than to troll and start a flame war?

Strangely, my big issue with her is what everyone else gives praise for. There's something in her vocal tone that I don't like. TBH I've only heard her singles, and I'm not sure if it's the vocal treatment or just how she sings, but I have a hard time buying into her "soulfulness". It just sounds too perfect, too bland. I like to use Joss Stone as an example bec

Funniest one I've ever witnessed was at a bar with some friends, and the place had a DJ "mixing" the usual cookie cutter electronic you get around here. I didn't really care until out of the speakers comes a Motorola ad drop O.o
...then after a few tracks another...
This guy had lifted a whole Motorola promo mix cd and was passing it as his own set.
