I decided to check out this app , but seriously expected it to be all pop music . I was thinking it would be like flipping through the records in Urban Outfitters . I am happy to admit that I was wrong . I immediately upon opening this app found a Magic In Threes 7" that I would have slept on because I had no idea they put out anything that wasn't on GED Soul . This app seems to be very

I usually go for older albums or artists who have an older sound . This one however is none of that ..
Ibeyi - selt-titled lp . Please forgive me if I posted this album already, I've had it for a while and I've been MIA for a while . Plus I am entirely too lazy to look... Yoruban Doom Soul is how this album was described . I can see that . Soulful ,but mostly downtempo . There is sad

When I first found out about that album , I was blown away by the prices I was seeing . Then I slept on the Now-Again reissue ( not sure why I put an and in there in my last post ) . Glad I picked it up . It's affordable , and a quality pressing !!

@LionsMouth , that Duke Ellington sounds like some great Sunday morning music !! I don't know a lot of his music either , but probably need to pick up some ....
@Gordon Rekcikssa , I had a boss back when I was painting that played that album everyday . It stayed in my head for a year after I moved away and left that job . Brings back nice memories . Dave was probably the coolest boss I ev

Merel - Merel 7"
Shotmaker/Maximillian Colby - Split LP
I came across this 7" and split LP over the last couple of weeks at my local record store, both for reasonable prices. All three were early-to-mid '90s hardcore bands that get tagged as "emo" quite often. If you like the Max Colby side of the split and still find value in digital downloads, you

I was definitely impressed with the Main Source pressing . I picked up a NM copy on eBay for my brother-in-law for $15 shipped . I only say NM because it was played once . Perfect copy . It can be found for a reasonable price right now . There are a few other VMP releases that I would like to get my hands on too , but couldn't justify subscribing . Too many releases I am not interested in at

Me too !! That one of the songs that if I'm having a bad day , I can put on and kiss that bad day good bye . It's a great song to put something in the air to ( if your into that ).

Same as the hip hop thread , so excuse the copy and paste below.
If you are like me ( which I hope for your sake you're not ) , you go most of your work day without listening to music . I work in a plant with forklifts and machinery , so no headphones while working . I usually end up with a few songs stuck in my head every day . I thought I would share . Feel free to add on if you can

I was listening to Aloe Blacc recently and it put the thought in my head , are there other rappers who sing too and do both well ??

He pulls it off well . Then you have cats like Mos Def who isn't the best singer in the world , but I like to listen to the sung as well as the emceed tracks .

^^ I dig this !! But don't have it .
A few recent listens.
Main Source - Breaking Atoms lp . This is the Vinyl Me Please reissue . I copped it on eBay sealed for $25 , and don't regret it at all . The pressing , sound quality , and packaging are top notch . Plus it comes with a bonus 45 . This album is one of those classics that I always wanted , but when I found an OG copy that w

^^ I know , but I usually only see it in places I don't like to order from . I never catch that 7 out in the wild . I see it on discogs a lot , but I don't like ordering from there . Too many bad experiences . Maybe if you have a trusted seller that has a copy you could let me know .

Billy Green - Stone soundtrack . I'm not familiar with Billy Green or the movie Stone , but I'm digging this soundtrack . Apparently it's a biker movie from Australia in the 70s . The instrumentation is great on this one . Lots of moog . This , I believe , is the first album I've owned with a didgeridoo on it . The music ranges from jazz to rock o funk , but is a good listen

^^ I will definitely be looking for more of their stuff now . I almost saw them live about five years ago . Was gonna go with a friend to see them , but had more pressing things to do when the show came around .
This morning...
Wild Sugar - Messin' Around / Bring It Here 7" . After hearing Rchecka's 80's mix , I knew I needed this 7 with the Beastie Boys / NWA samples o

^^ I second this ..
This morning ..
Atomic Forest - Obsession 2lp . This is a super dope Now Again compilation of AF's work . They are a Indian psych band from the 70s . This album runs the gamut from tripped out fuzz ,to psych/funk , and has a few very chilled out almost folky moments too . The drumming on this is amazing ! I picked up a used copy . My copy is not in the shrink which

So I was in the same boat that you are with the dead LionsMouth . I just couldn't and didn't want to get into them ( with the exception of the song Casey Jones ) . But 2 record store days ago , a kid showed up with a portable turntable and put on their first album . I thought it was great !! I will definitely cop it if I see it . I suggest you start there . @ analogoddity , that DJ Harrison is dope !!
@ LionsMouth , Organix is amazing . The roots have definitely gone in many directions . I've managed to enjoy it all so far with the exception of one album (Rising Down ) . Just couldn't get into it . I've also only heard a few tracks off of the last album they put out .
I recently picked this up..
FloFilz - Cenario lp. Super dope

Nice score Rchecka !! I just got a Max Roach album I'm digging .
Max Roach - We Insist ! Lp. This is a recent reissue ( very inexpensive ) . I had never heard this album and admittedly picked it up based on the cover art . I Have a few other Max Roach albums , but nothing like this . Super politically charged and sometimes almost tribal . You also get Abbey Lincoln pushing things along

So today I was heading to get a pizza on lunch break . I'm barely out of the parking lot and heading down the street when it caught my eye . I'm talking to my wife on the phone when I abruptly stop the conversation and say " Did I just see a record on the side of the road !!??). To which my wife replies ..."what ? ". I said I think I just saw a record on the side of the r

That shit drives me crazy too . That's why I don't buy very often from Discogs . The same thing happens a lot on bandcamp , but on the flip side , some sellers make up for it . I just bought a record from Jakarta records in Germany and received it in 6 days ( that's counting Sunday ) I didn't know thing could get here that fast from that side of the world . Hopefully the new s
