...just to add some further thoughts...

...I think ATCQ (in '91) took the direction of rap music to a whole new, level in terms of concept...rhyme perspective and production...and the framework of what would become, following (in the world of rap music)...(from an East Coast perspective)....

...but OK, at the same time, was doing the same cutting-edge music - but just didn't get the shine, the recognition - and record-play (due to clique- association....label promotion...payola (LOL).....etc), that ATCQ did...

...just throwing my thoughts out there....from actually being there (as a fan, follower and listener) at that time....

Great topic.

I hate to say it, but I can't even vote on this one cuz I haven't heard the first or second album all the way through yet. I know both are monster must have Hip Hop albums but I haven't ever seen one in my price range. Last time I saw a copy was at Dusty Groove and they wanted 60 bones for it. It's probably worth it but I passed, but I always check for those albums since I heard random tracks off each.

I have Organized Konfusion - Who Stole My Last Piece of Chicken 12", and like P mentioned it's really dope.

I had The Equinox a long time ago but sold it without even batting an eye since I thought it was pretty weak overall. I think there was maybe only 2 or 3 decent songs on that album.

Dude! Just pick them up on CD. Then get them on vinyl when you see them. I've got the first album on some limited double vinyl stuff with extra tracks.... actually, come to think of it, I've got the promo for the second album as well. They are GOLD.
Also got the Stress 12".... classic Large Pro remix.

(Don't believe the pic on the youtube vid, it isn't on the album.)

(if you're talking about the animated, 'Stress' pic, that has Monche, with the glowing green, Hulk hands) - I actually have it as the CD cover/insert pic for the (OG) CD that I have.

Dope Extra P remix, as well...reminds me slightly of something that Large Pro did on Akinyele's first album, Vagina Diner (which he did most of, if not all the beats on, if I remember correctly).
