It's Friday night...smileys with beer

so it's time for Friday Night Slept on HH Albums take 4...

Rubberoom ‎– Architechnology (Indus) 1999

^Slept on Chitown hard underground. Dark, slow beats by members of the Opus and various other producers, each track featuring a different DJ on the cuts. It's solid all the way thru from front to back.

It even got props on the cult classic High Fidelity. Yet here it is, my slept on pick. IMO If you don't have this in your crates, you're missing an essential piece of the Chitown underground.

It's Friday night...This ones on me.

so it's time for Friday Night Slept on HH Albums take 5,

...the fourth of July weekend edition...

MC Shy D - Got To Be Tough LP (Luke Skyywalker) 1987

^"Bah da bap bap bah bah bah!"

^(Start at 49 seconds and/or cue up

Bozo Meko's Brazilian Rhyme)

Bottom line, This LP is good enough and cheap enough to justify doubles any day. Dope samples throughout this early Miami Bass masterpiece by falsetto rapper Shy D and his man DJ Man on the cuts. Enough good organic samples over early Miami bass-lines to keep this shit funky all these years later.

Happy 4th of July 'kend to all who are celebrating!

It's Friday night...(@M@)

so it's time for Friday Night Slept on HH Albums take 6,

Chase Phoenix ‎– Cut To The Chase LP (Underworld Records) 2004

^Why did this 20 something MC only drop one dope album back in 2004 and then just fade away? Why is this LP starting at only $2.99 on discogs ? It's not cuz it's wack... On the contrary it's pretty dope.

Beats by Blockhead, Baby Dayliner and dub-L, featuring Jemini the Gifted One, C-Rayz Walz and Aesop Rock, on this Battle Axe subsidiary. From the first needle drop to the last track on side D, the beats are bangin. Not at all abstract, backpacker beats, just bangin boom bap beats and it still sounds fresh 11 years later.

All this kid did was this album, and then poof... disappeared. His bio says nothing. Talk about an enigmatic MC.((Spy))

If you spot this criminally slept on LP in the wild, cough up the 5 dollar bill for it, you'll see what I'm talking about. Or hell, just cough up your gum money for the month and buy it on Discogs. Highly recommended. thumbs up

Anywayz...

...

It's Friday night...smoking smiley

so it's time for Friday Night Slept on HH Albums take 7,

Time Machine Slow Your Roll LP (Glow in the Dark Records) 2004

^Witty wordplay and dope beats on this LP from a small LA indie label, (Glow in the Dark Records) that is now deceased. It's clever and feel-good indie Hip Hop, not pretentious backpacker shit and there's a difference.

Featuring guest MCs like Edan, Edo G. and Special K of Awesome 2, and even with that diversity, this is a cohesive album all the way thru.

What am I doing... Instead of trying to spell it out in words, I'll just let this short promo megamix sell the thing for me. This promotional in nature "Slow Your Roll Megamix" is off their Night Lights 12" and it definitely summarizes the album better than I ever could.
