^I never got into Spice One. Maybe I was missing some good stuff, but I always thought all their albums sounded the same? Maybe not, admittedly I never gave it much of a chance.

...anywayz...

This kend's Hip Hop New (to me) records...

DJ Shadow - Total Breakdown: Hidden Transmissions From The MPC Era, 1992-1996 2LP (DJ Shadow) 2012

^Never even got past the first disc this weekend. Of what I heard, it's kind of a let-down. I'll give it another shot later but I'm thinking this should remained buried. Not at all indicative of Shadows usual quality production, he must have been a newb when he dropped these frankly boring beats.

Declaime ‎– Illmindmuzik EP (Good Vibe Recordings) 1999

^Finally found that at a nice price. Really nice laid back stuff, early Madlib beats and it's about a 1000 times better then the other one I have from him "Conversations With Dudley". Note to self, sell that horrible "Conversations With Dudley" album it's taking up valuable space.

Last night...

J.J. Doom - Key to the Kuffs (Lex) 2012 (Jneiro Jarell and MF Doom)

^Really good album, probably one of the best I've heard from Doom in a while. Good abstractish beats but not too abstract and plenty of good rhymes. Well put together collab IMO, sometimes these things don't work out so well I think this was a good meeting of the minds.

That pic was taken at Metrowax Records BTW. I been bugging Wade (the owner) to start picking up new Hip Hop and he finally bit on the idea and bought a large quantity of good new Fat Beats distributed wax. He's got other distributors on the horizon but this was a good place to start since Fat Beats is the only real big show around when it comes to new Hip Hop. So (Plug for a friend) If you are planning on copping this online anyway, I think you'll find his prices and service on point. Check out Metrowax's New Hip Hop Listings Section. BTW, I think they did a great website revamp recently, stuff is clean and easy to find.

I have been looking at that. John at The Groove recommended it to me also , but at the time I was flat broke (I guess that's a bad time to pop in a record store).
