Roxanne Shante - The Bitch Is Back

The Bitck is Back' had some ill joints.....my favortie being the (Kool G Rap ghost-written), 'Straight Razor'..the Large Pro produced, 'Brother's Ain't Shit'.....'Deadly Rhymes' (another Large Pro joint).

peace.

Those are the stand-out tracks but there isn't a bad tune on the LP.
The drums on Brother's Ain't Shit are so good.

The list are fine,gentleman..but speaking for the viewing audience that may not have heard some of these albums
when they came out,or know nothing about these particular groups; we would definitely appreciate if you can give a little more input as to why you believe these albums listed were underappreciated. Why should they have been given the star treatment?Who are they?,What tracks on these albums were dope in your opinions?Where were these guys from? What did they sample on the cuts?
etc,etc.Yall,feel me?

Peace.

i hear ya, Beatmaster....but personally, I like folks to do their own research (in certain matters)...their own detective work, based on the clues from (knowledgable and/or credible) sources. It's like leaving a trail of breadcrumbs and having you follow them to the house made of candy.

I know I ain't writing no reviews whatever i'm listing...LOL. BUT, if one has any questions, on any ones specific (listed by whomever)...ask away.

adding on....

Born Gangstaz - Bo$$

which was mostly produced by.....

Just A Poet With Soul - Def Jef

I feel ya,Uptown..but this is where i'm getting at.I guess my opinion kind of ties into RC's post about Reddit vinyl.A majority of the people around the world using the internet on a regular basis are the under 30 year olds.Everybody knows that but that demographic has the shortest attention span. They want their info like yesterday. That said, when they cruise by sites like these and feel that they are interesting enough to open the door and look around. You are on the clock for about a half a second to sell them on the product that we are producing.Cratediggin' and Hip Hop and all of the elements that make up the science.
I'm a community type of person,P you already know that but...I feel that we are all at our best when there are more people to interact with. This allows us to get a larger base of opinions. The education generally ascends for the basic fact that with more people there are different experiences.Enhancing the possibilities of someone dropping by with knowledge of something that we are not familiar with.

Rewind...now Mr. Joe HipHop slides by and sees your post. He's young,he's into Hip Hop and other genres, he's 18-25 and he reads that these are underappreciated Hip Hop albums. He's never heard alot of this material before, might not have even been born yet when some of these actually came out. He's going to see everyone's list and ask himself the question. Why?Why does the author of the post and the thread contributers feel that these particular albums are underappreciated?

Uptown now,you are a cratedigger especial! and a seasoned vet.It is common knowledge to all old schoolers and old school minded cats that one of the unwritten rules is to dig for these gems and listen to them and find out for yourself why we feel this way.I know it,you know it and probably all the members here. But,Joe HipHop doesn't know it.He's from the Iphone generation and if the info is not readily available, his interest is lost.So why should we even give a damn?Because as we speak he and people of his constituency are in the majority.
They also hook onto something fast and hold it when it does capture their interest long enough to get involved with.If we can get a few of those cats at this table then they will bring others in to soak up this knowledge and experience and learn REAL Hip Hop.9,000 cats hit that post about the turntable and the ikea stand with the 10 records. In ONE DAY!WTF are you kidding me?Even if 90% of it was(fabricated by some software,((giggle)))900 would still be good, right? All because one of them decided that it was....cool.Do we really want our legacies of all our sweat and strife in this game to be replaced by that in a few years?
That would be a cardinal sin and cause what we do to die,IMHO.I feel these new cats need to be grabbed a hold of and taught the reals about everything from HipHop to vinyl so they can pass it on in their special way to the next generation. In order to do this we have to hold one or two of them in the room long enough to...well, say that something we said or did or something that they saw was......cool.
We don't have to be Roger Ebert...but I just think that we should say enough to make em' look.Sorry for the drag out,my good brother, but you know It's hard for me to say things with one or two words.I know it's probably annoying but it's what I do.haha
