Okay , just to clear up something . If it's a comparison , and for me I compared to comparable Producers , I thought 5 was fair . But , looked at that five as an even middle ground of dope producers , and not like " he's half as good as the other producers ". I do think his production is neck to neck with a nice sized handful of producers that also innovated the game . I wasn't trying to belittle Dilla to save other producers face , if that's the way my original post came off .

The numbering system in a personal opinion is obviously a unique viewpoint. I don't know what a 10 out of 10 producer sounds like, I'm pretty picky so I doubt I'll ever hear that kind of production. That being said, a 50% score is less than par for course in my world. In my mind, a 7 is par, a 8 is birdie, 9 eagle, but maybe your 5 is my 7?

I think my five is somewhere around your 8 or so I think . But like I said , I think on an even playing field with many of the other dope producers I would actually bother to compare him too . If it was 1 - 10 , how dope is this cat , 8 is fair to me . But if it's how does he compare to Primo ( or insert any top shelf producer's name ) and he's an even five to me compared to other top producers that I would also give the even 5 (50 / 50 rating ).
