Not cool man. I can empathise with how that must have been.... although I'm not driving as much as that. Don't know how long I want to keep doing it though. sad smiley

^^no doubt bro. Although it was all highway and smooth flowing (versus local roads), and i could pop in a standard (80 min) CD-R and be home by the time it was done - it did nothing put stack up crazy mileage on the car in that short period of time. ((TD))

Whaateverrrr.Kay?!?

You guys think you got it bad?!

My arms are killing me from hauling in all these monster fish I caught yesterday on Labor Day. A few of em almost pulled me out of the boat. worried

One of those big suckers bit through the catch net and managed to escape. Hmmm

Also, I caught a rare white bass, seeing one is as lucky as some kind of freak pegasus siting or some shit like that...

This guy right here...

Don't let his size fool you, I felt like the old man of the sea old geezerdrinking smiley pulling this guy up on our boat.

My arms and hands are all busted up from a day of battling the fresh water bohemouths and cotton mouth from local sudds in the hot sun. sad smiley

eye rolling smiley

Yo, uptown...Eye hope you were stackin' chips for that kinda run everyday! That's some serious commuting!!!!

Eye got another summer concert series rant from this weekend....Rock The Bells....

...first off, Eye was supposed to be rollin' wit the fam (4 of us)...but, as Eye suspected...Eye ended up havin' to go for delf!!!! Heads was supposed to be reaching out to make arrangements...we had talked about it a couple of months ago....the weeks roll by...no calls, no txt...(no, check that...Eye did get 1 check-in about a month out...but nobody else had so, all Eye could confirm @ that point was that Eye knew Eye was still down)...weekend before Eye get a txt..."yo, sup with this Rock The Bells? I'm ready make moves"....Eye shoot back that I'm down, hit me up....then Eye ask, "is everybody goin' both days" (not all parties live in NY)........*crickets*........next day Eye get a txt, "I'll let you know"...ummm...?.....radio silence from that point til the day before when Eye just took upon myself to hit everybody up and see what's what...1st person is goin on a trip to the Caribbean the following week so, they're trying to save $$ BUT, they're "still playin' it by ear"....that's a NO!.....2nd person's response was, "that's this weekend?"....that's a NO!....3rd person, the 1 who originally hit me wit the "I'm ready to make moves" txt, tells me that they would've arranged this all differently had they been the one responsible for getting this all straight (which was officially the responsibility of person 1)?....they "woulda planned a day in Atlantic City and then we coulda rolled to the show from there...."........"ummm, you do realize this a two day, 12 hr. each event right???"......."man, I'm not trying to go out there both days...we chill in AC and we'll be right there (which, logistically speaking, was not true as Atlantic City is literally on the other side of NJ...woulda taken us longer to get there from AC than from NYC)...so, you still down?"...in the interest of fairness, @ this point, now I'm not sure Eye wanna roll because a) Eye had a whole different vision in my head about this weekend...one that had 4 heads rolling to both days...and b) Eye feeling kinda guilty about leavin' wifey on her own for the holiday wknd...it was one thing if the fellas was rollin', cuz that was the plan all along, which she knew about and was cool with...but, once things fell apart and it was apparent that it was prolly gonna be just me, Eye starting feeling a tiny bit selfish...so Eye said, "I'm not sure, I'm hit you back". Talked it over with wifey, she's on some, GO...me stayin' would be messin' up her flow! Oops Fock it, I'm rollin'...both days...with or w/o my remaining fam...tried to connect one more time and Eye find myself in a Verizon commercial...."can you hear me now?!?...hello?....hello?!?!?"....that's it, game over...I'm goin' in dolo!

Of course no concert series rant would be complete without mention of the show itself, which was ok but not great...main stage sound was way too loud...vocals were completely drowned out by the music, which was at the point of distortion. The second stage had the sound perfect, but that was also the site of the biggest beef with the event...on day two, about midway through the day, a massive rainstorm rolled through and hung around for a couple of hours. It just happened to coincide with part of the schedule that had DJ Quik, MOP, Immortal Technique and The Hit Squad scheduled to touch down on the 2nd stage (which, unlike the main stage, was not in an area where there was protection from the rain). Eye was at the main stage watching a decent performance by Slaughterhouse when the storm kicked up. When they wrapped it up Eye was faced with a choice...sit and stay dry in the main stage area and miss the lineup that Eye mentioned above or stay and watch Common, J.Cole and Nas? With all due respect to Com & Nas...both of whom Eye have seen live before, Eye was more inclined for the rah-rah that day...plus, Eye figured the rain would add a whyle-out factor so, Eye said, fruck it and headed out into the muck....it was a serious downpour...when Eye got to the other stage DJ Quik was in the middle of his set performaning to about 25 people standing in the rain at the foot of the stage and about another 20 or so standing under what little shelter was surrounding the area. Eye posted up under some foliage and watched the rest of his set. I'll get back to that later. More importantly, after his set, the sound crew starts setting up for the next act and then tells a couple of the heads up front that the power to the stage blew. Now we all knew this was probably bullsit cuz the stage lights were still on. Clearly, MOP wasn't coming on because after awhile, Immortal Technique comes up on the stage and starts inspecting the stage and equipment and you could see from his body language that he wasn't trying to get out there in that rain. No announcement, no anything...they just walked away. Heads was waiting in the rain for at least 30 mins...they could've at least said, yo, it ain't gonna happen. At this point, I'm soaked to the bone...Eye went back over to the area where the main stage was but didn't bother to go back in...Common was on, Eye stayed for about two joints but Eye was bummed by the other situation plus Eye was soaked...Eye just bounced for the night.

Shouts to DJ Quik for being a real G by braving the rain and doing it for the heads that toughed it out...at one point, he jumped off stage and rocked "Born and Raised In Compton" right there in the rain with the rest of us. That was some cool sh*t. He was having big fun and made it worthwhile for the heads that braved the elements....that's what's up.
