I hear you on all accounts, BM31 - but, if you remember (movie-wise), 'The Boys in Company C' predated "full Metal Jacket. obviously, the got it right and took the lesssons learned (content, boot camp realism and cinematography) when they made Full Metal.

Also the name of the Jan Michael Vincent movie was called Tribes.
Darren McGaven and Earl Holliman played the D.I.'s if I remember correctly.
It was made I think back in 1970 or 71.I think I seen it on movie of the week back in 79 or something.

I'll definitley have to check for 'Tribes'..I hadn't seen it before.
The main thing i used to check for Jan Michael Vincent on was (later on), on the TV show, 'Airwolf'...that was my sh*t. In fact, i've gone back (after all these decades and started watching the season all over again (on Hulu))...up to Season 4, right now.

Man, that brings me back. This show, Knight Rider and A-Team were my all time favorite action TV shows as a kid. The Airwolf theme music NEEDS to be sampled.
