We now live in a world where there are billions of hours of music available for free streaming and or downloading from DJs and crate diggers who make mixtapes or DJ mixes from all over the planet. There's more music than we could listen to in a thousand lifetimes. For that reason it seems like you can't even give music away any more, people have too many choices and their listening time is too precious to wade through the selections trying to find something solid with no filler. If you think about it, it can be daunting to go on a simple quest to find good streaming music that suits your current mood.

Well, hey...we're here to help! thumbs up

Instructions: It's a self explanatory title but to clarify, post one mix you find "listen worthy" from either of these 2 sources. Mixcloud.com and Soundcloud.com
(Please limit to only one post per user per day. There can be multiple users posting their own recommendation on the same day)

Please be picky with your recommendation. Choose wisely. Note: this is not a self promo spot, drop your own mixes in the member submission section.

There's enough top notch examples out there to make this a post that constantly rides at the top of this sub forum. This is an easy topic for everyone to chime in, even our lurkers can easily come out of their dark places and contribute with good recommendations.

So what's your recommendation of the day? Scooby

Stacey Pullen fabric x Detroit Love Promo Mix

Nice minimal mix here from the legendary Stacy Pullen. It starts off simple and unassuming, with heaps of gradual subtle builds.

I'll have to check this out. I know at one point a lot of people were critical of how his DJ sets had evolved because he was playing more commercial house stuff.

Personally I love the production work he did under the names Kosmic Messenger and Silent Phase. The Silent Phase album on Trasmat is a real gem worth seeking out. The KM comp is harder to come by and I still need to get a copy eventually.

His BBC Essential Mix from the 90s is also a monster, maybe one of the best DJ sets I've ever heard.

^Good info about Pullen. Legendary DJ who's been around years and he's not slowing down any time soon.

Today's pick...

DJ Andy Smith & DJ Format - Hip Hop On Wax @ Maud, Walthamstow - 14.1.17

Quote
DJ Andy Smith
DJ Format guesting at my first 'Hip Hop On Wax' night at The Maud club (inside The Mirth) in Walthamstow. Nothing planned or rehearsed here - Just a couple of tunes (sometimes one!) each. Just nice to be able to slam some nice old jams really!

Hoping others will add on here so it's not the Joe Schmoe show...

Today's pick...

Dieselboy - The Destroyer 2 (Extinction Event)

SOUNDCLOUD LINK

^You know I like it when I play it in my studio rather than playing my records. Dieselboy, the US's best drum & bass DJ (by far) dropped an incredible sequel to his powerhouse of a mix the Destroyer. This one will give you heart palpitations. Layers upon layers of ground breaking drum and bass tracks that if listened to while working out will double your caloric burn. I work out to drum and bass mixes pretty much every day, because nothing makes me kick my own ass harder. Out of all the D&B mixes I bump, this is the best of the best.

While it may fall out of fashion from time to time, D&B will never die, and DJs like Dieselboy are the reason why.
