I'm sure you've heard by now, it's all over the news. I loved that guy, planned on enjoying his new music for years to come. Saddened and shocked doesn't even begin to describe my feelings right now. RIP to one of the all time great rock vocalists.

I can't even begin to describe how totally stunned I am by this. I feel like I've lost something terribly important, but don't know exactly what it is or if I'll ever be able to find it again. I'm roughly the same age as Cornell, and the music he made with Soundgarden served as the soundtrack for both some the best and some of the worst times in my life. I saw them play last month, and felt the same excitement I did back in the old days. Not too many bands can pull off the stunt of making you feel young again. That's a special kind of magic right there.

RIP.

Definitely a situation I would not have expected. His band meant a lot to me, especially when I was younger. I remember buying Superunknown on cassette when it came out and I played that to death until the tape wore out.
