I can't believe I don't have any Nirvana on CD, that's a big hole in my Grunge collection.

peace.

^^^Nirvana only had like 3 albums, right?

Nirvana was one of those bands that I have always loved but never got their quintessential stuff because I knew it would always be around due to it's popularity. Lucky for me, I can still get their main albums, only now I know a downtown local shop who has them on LP.

I'm gonna get them ASAP.
I have waited long enough.

Grunge is a nickname for grungy sounding and grungy looking rockers that had a short-lived "scene" back in the early 90s. Eventually grunge merged with the broader termed "Alternative" which was supposedly an "alternative" to "standard" rock and roll (whatever that means). Then that term died because everyone called themselves alternative so it was no longer alternative to anything, now it's just rock and roll again.

Sorry, I had to. But good definition anyway. I never really (and still don't) enjoy grunge music. To me, it's the Poppa of Emo. I rarely get requests for it (with the exception of Pearl Jam), never bump it in my ride, and just can't get into it for some reason. I do have a pretty good collection (MP3), but it just sits there. I have tried to force myself to check it out from time to time. I like certain songs, but as a whole, I don't get it. Just don't like the "dirty" melancholy sound of most of it.

Can you recommend any upbeat/feel good songs to check out? I know that, that is contradictory.
