^How's that Damu 10" V? I've seen that around, curious.

Quintessential Damu in my book though he is rhyming on top of this. One of the better beats he put out but this already appeared (in a shorter version) on the Supply For Demand record. Still, this is a longer version, alternate mix, instrumental, etc. I don't have to explain to you about being a completionist lol.

That Siah and Yeshua Dapo ED Visualz EP is a classic in my book. I finally picked it up on wax recently (from a DWG'er) and Jesper must've really lucked out coming up on that one for cheap...it's not crazy expensive, but a nice copy is definitely in the $40-60 range. Anyways, FANTASTIC record.

Also, Jesper, that Antonio Carlos e Jocafi is something I've been fiending for after hearing your latest mix...I went and checked the album online and it's full of great cuts and a couple really dope samples I never knew where they came from. So dope.

@Rchecka and Vamos: The Visualz EP is dope. Reminsd me of Juggaknots and the whole late 90s indie sound, therefore also maybe sounds a little dated now. But not mad at finding it for 4 Euros at one of my favorite local spots where they don't take hiphop very serious and price it cheap - see the city guide on the blog.

Was never that up on Brazilian but have randomly found a few of the more slow funky joints from Jorge Ben, Antonio Carlos etc. recently and am really getting into the warm earthy vibe. Gotta get that Verocia and the Gal Coast "camel toe" joint too!

Picked up a few jazz joints over the weekend . Was out of town with the wife for our anniversary , so I didn't want to get caught up in an all day dig , so I picked up the first 2 joints that I knew I would like .

The Thelonious Monk Quartet - Monk's Dreams lp ...Thelonious Monk .. No brainer . Great stuff here.

Joe Henderson- Mode For Joe lp ... Some great players on this one . Lee Morgan , Curtis Fuller , Bobby Hutcherson , Cedar Walton , Ron Carter , and Joe Chambers back Henderson .
Came with the Blue Note 2 sided poster

^Man that's a sweet poster. Great Jazz there man, I have that Monk too, it's nice.

Recently I copped these...

War Pig - War Pig LP (1970) 2009 Repress (Kreation Records)

^The same year that Black Sabbath dropped their first album with the first track being War Pigs these guys dropped their one and only album. They ain't trying to be Sabbath, it's hard rock, but not nearly as dark as Sabbath, with some really sweet psych sounds on some songs. Definitely feeling this stoner rock, a nice repress.

Various ‎- Beat From Badsville Vol.1 2X10" compilation (Stag-O-Lee) 2012

^One of my favorite "punkabilly" groups the Cramps compiled this sweet diggers compilation of rare rockabilly singles, thrash, punk and garage one-offs. I try to buy anything with the Cramps name on it and I was expecting more punk but still I was not disappointed. Some of these songs are clearly influential on their sound. Lots of great music is crammed on to these 10s, a surprising amount of great unknown music for the money.

OFF! - The First 4 EPs 7" Box (Vice Magazine) 2012

^A fucking fantastic punk band in every sense of the word punk. Pissed, short songs, and crazy moya foyaz. Their song titles are appropriate. "Panic Attack" "Black Thoughts" "Now I'm Pissed" and my favorite title "Fuck People". Not surprising that they are on Vice magazines label.

Swell Maps - A Trip To Marineville LP + 7" EP (Secretly Canadian) OG 1979 This Reissue 2012

^This is thee best rock album I have heard in YEARS. Full of surprises and twists, just when you think you are getting an idea of their sound they flip the style on you all while somehow keeping it cohesive sounding. None of the abrupt style changes clash, it just works. How I am only hearing about these guys right now is beyond me, I shoulda been bumping this years ago. After reading some of the reviews online for this I jumped and the hype was right. If I had to put a label on it I guess it would be punk but I'd have to use it loosely because they got their own style that is indescribable. I love how the album starts, with a sample of a kid (maybe on a cartoon?) going, "Gee mister, that's a swell map!"
