^I saw George Winston play live once and it was a very cool small venue concert. It was a formal affair, everyone was dressed in suit and ties and he came out in a pair of knee cut jeans and a flannel and wooed the audience without batting an eye.

I've always wanted to see him play. I have a live comp from the early days of Windham Hill that has a bunch of performances by different artists on the label, with Winston being one of them. He sounds phenomenal on it. Very cool that you got to see him.

Meerenai Shim - The Art Of Noise

Shim is a classical/jazz/avant-garde flutist that plays in a variety of off the wall projects as well as traditional chamber orchestras. In addition to all this, she also runs her own classical label. This is her 2013 album and an accompanying 7". The album has everything from somewhat traditional classical compositions, to stuff that wouldn't sound out of place on a Modern Jazz Quartet album. Throw in some really far out electronics, and this thing is an absolute winner in terms of modern classical.

The clip below is a live performance of the piece on the 7", "Flight Of The Bleeper Bird". This piece is composed for flute and a Game Boy. The record comes housed in an 8" floppy disc, and is hand numbered and signed. The CD is also signed on the inside of the sleeve.
