Junior Wells - It's My Life Baby LP

Got this because the cover looked interesting and I saw that Buddy Guy plays guitar on it. Turned out to be a good move.

^Nice one! Junior Wells and Buddy Guy are both legends.

Right now where I'm at it's cold, it's -20 to -30 with wind chill.

Or as the old man at my gym says "Colder than a dead witches tit!" scared nervous

So anyway I'm playing this right now to warm up.

Magic Dick and Jay Geils - 9 Bellow Zero

^Got this on CD many years ago. Great side project for J-Geils of the 80s pop band J-Geils band. He was famous for another song that is just as fitting to play today but it's nowhere near as good as that.

Freezeframe!

^((nocomment)) God the 80s were horrible at times.

Recently this landed...

Bobby Bland - Stormy Monday Blues / Your Friends 7" (Duke) 1962

^I'm gonna go out on a sturdy limb and say this is the best cover of this often covered song Stormy Monday Blues. His voice, the way he sings it, beats every other version by miles.

^cool smiley

Jimmy McCracklin - High on the Blues A/K/A Yesterday is Gone LP

1980 reissue (different title and cover art) of a 1972 Stax Soul Blues album. I really like this style and it works well here. There are some subtle funky grooves, great background singers on some tracks, pretty much everything you'd expect for the style. The funny thing about the pressing quality on this 1980 reissue is that it's way better than some of the 70s Stax and Enterprise pressings I've got in my collection. This caught my eye because I have a Johnnie Taylor LP released as part of the same 1980 Stax series of reissues. Grab this if you come across it. My copy was sealed deadstock and was very reasonably priced.
