Yu - Before Taxes LP (Fatbeats Records)

^Trying to get caught up on a few of last years Hip Hop releases, this one is pretty good. Gonna have to peep it again for a true test though, sounds interesting enough for a more few listens but I doubt it'll be one of those timeless Hip Hop LPs.

^Gave this another listen over the weekend and I liked it this time a lil more. Some real good joints on here, I musta been in a bad mood or something on my first listen cuz I almost wrote it off. Now I'm thinking about getting the new one
cuz there's only 500 pressed.

UGK - Take It Off 12" (Jive Records)

^Drop a needle on this and you'll know why I bought it, the low end pounds. I love it when records have suprisingly low bass response, this one is slamin dope.

UGK - Front, Back & Side To Side and It's Supposed To Bubble 12" (Jive Records)

^Trying to round out my UGK collection a bit, these are not disappointing at all. Gonna try to be a completionist with UGK, cuz everything I have from em is fire.

Sixtoo - Duration LP (Audio Boxcutter)

^Wouldn't mind being a completionist of this guy's sheet too. Graph artist gone beatmaker Sixtoo drops his typical dark abstract boom bap on this. So glad I could finally cop this, I'd been looking for it for a while and it was always over priced, so I was happy spending only 14 bucks on this. It was well worth it.

Flying Lotus - 1983 (Plug Research)

^Not sure why he called it 1983, I hear nothing that sounds anything like 1983 in there. He's a pretty interesting beat producer though, and this is a good album, nice and glitchy without being overly weird.

Jeru The Damaja – The Sun Rises In The East (Payday Records)

^Stark contrast to Flylo, this is a classic Payday LP. I haven't busted it out in years since it seems like I've heard all the good songs on countless tapes and other places, but sometimes it's good to put it on and hear it in it's original track order, especially when it's been years. You can tell this is one of the first records I bought because back then I used to put "Hello my name is" nametags on all my records with bpm listing like a total dumbass newb. Completely unnecessary in hind site.

I like a lot of the stuff that Flying Lotus has done. Some's a little leftfield, but for the most part I see why there is the hype. Reguarding the name sticker with the BPM, LMAO! I got friends that did the same thing with their first records!

Dope album. I haven't listened to it in a while....will need to break it out.

The underrated joint of this album is....

...need to also break out the follow up (Jeru) album, too....Wrath of the Math.
