Waddup y'all!...I haven't disappeared,I poke my head in from time to time...still working on my project (that keep talking about) I'll be sharing that with y'all soon (it involves hip-hop) with that being said...

@Vamosraspiar... I Fux with the entire TDE crew(I actually liked Oxymoron even though I expected more)...but Isiah definitely has something the others lack...the ep you speak of Clivia is one of the dopest projects to come out of that camp...shit is ill... IMO He's like a gangster version of Kendrick deeper voice, tighter delivery...don't know how to explain it... your thoughts?
I've actually been following Vince for a min and witnessed his evolution..duke is talented... I haven't heard Common's entire album yet but the track you listed demonstates Vince's ability to ride the beat in a way that I haven't heard in years...

@jaybrown Kevin Gates is a character...his interview with Combat Jack(podcast) was ineteresting , after you sifted through all the jail talk ,there were maybe a few things one could take away from his commentary (he was sippin lean the whole time tho) I've listened to some of his music and he's definitely got the spirit of Lil Boosie in his rhymes...but he injects some actual lyrics in there..it's very heavy on that southern trap shit..not really my thing....

LIL Bibby- straight gangster shit outta Chiraq...deep voice...same ol' trap/bando stuff..but for some reason I'm partial to him maybe because i can understand him when he speaks...lol...I wish they (Bibby, Durk,Herb etc) would grasp the concept of constructing a song.. The hip-hop world would be a better place if the young dudes understood that...all of the dudes sound the same to me..

I may have figured it out about Young Thug-he is a master of the chorus..his choruses are sooo catchy...his delivery is different, and although most of the time it is damn near undecipherable...not sure sure if I even mess with it yet...

People Under The Stairs - Question In The Form Of An Answer
Jedi Mind Tricks - Violent By Design
Deep Puddle Dynamics - Taste Of Rain... Why Kneel
and
Thirstin Howl III - Skillionaire
This was the soundtrack for today , and really more of a memorial . My best friend through my early 20s was a cat named Justin aka Riff Raff ( not to get twisted with the ridiculous excuse for a rapper that the name is attached to these days ) . Justin was literally the best Emcee I knew at the time , and my top of the unsigned hype list . Not that I haven't always loved hip hop , but this dude made me the fan that I am . We were roommates for a couple years , and every chance we got , we would hit up Tower Records and demolish their hip hop section . The albums I bumped today were just a tiny tiny portion of some of the albums that we picked up on a whim and played to death . Justin and I had both moved around , and lost touch . We had done that several times during our friendship , but always managed to get back up with each other . The last time I talked to him was about 6 years ago , and I have been patiently waiting to catch up with him again . This morning while I was making deliveries , I ran into my homie Powah ( Pow Shadowz for anybody that's been into the LA underground hip hop scene over the last 8 years or so ) , who was also good friends with Justin . Hoping to reconnect with both of them , I asked him about Justin . That's when he told me that one of the best friends I have ever had , took his own life 4 years ago . It's been a tough day , but listening to those albums and thinking back has helped . R.I.P. Justin Rubin (Riff Raff)....

^Man, I'm very sad to hear that JB. It's horrible to lose a friend and that's the worst way to lose a friend. But you can't blame yourself for not hooking up with him before hand, he had "demons" preventing him from touching base with friends. I lost a friend when I was 20 years old to suicide, I still think about him often. I always wish we could have met on one of his low points so I could steer him away from the worst outcome. But then I realize I probably couldn't of changed a damn thing, when someone is in that much despair, a friends' best advice is useless.

You gotta take your time and mourn, but don't kid yourself, there's truly nothing you could have done. Do what you gotta do to make it easy on his family, be there, be a rock. That's the best way you can honor him.

RIP to your friend Justin Rubin, I'm sad for you.

On a brighter note than my last post , here are a few albums I copped recently . All are on Cold Busted which is a label out of LA that mostly highlights producers / djs . They have a ton dope instrumental albums .

Poldoore - The Day Off picture disc lp . Straight outta Belgium , this cat lays down some dope instrumentals . Lots of chopped soul samples on here ,other genres sampled too , but the soul samples always stand out to me . Really heavy drums on the tracks too . Definitely a great listen if your just chillin or need some dope background music ...

My Neighbor Is - Fish & Chips pictur disc lp . This album has the bare bone of an old school hip hop album . Heavy drum breaks with layered samples , and some nice scratches to top it off . All that being said , the ample selection and arrangement makes this album play more like a modern funk album than a hip hop album though . Definitely more upbeat than the Poldoore joint ..

Poldoore / Singularis - Give Em What They Want / 4 Momz split 7" . Give Em What They Want uses a sample from AWB - Pick Up The Pieces , and would make a great party track . But , 4 Momz is a more laid back after party chill out track .
