Yes,that was extremely sad Uptown,especially being that most of the party goers were very young.
This was completely avoidable.But on the reals, P..I still have never got over the Puffy and Hev(R.I.P)
party disaster way back.Another not properly organized venue where people just thought about the dollars
instead of the safety.

^^ you know, BM...i was originally gonna mention that Puffy-stampede at City College, back in '91, but refrained (since it didn't have to do with a fire)...but, in any regards, you're absolutely right - Safety is the common denominator in the equation.

I hear ya, Uptown..but it's a shame that when we paid at the door and added our donation back in the day we had no idea or care about the fire and safety issues until something bad happened.Alot of the clubs and venues that the old schoolers talk about were not fit for the amount of people they held,and some of the places were nothing more than holes in the ground.I am actually suprised that we didn't have more tragic events like this in the states in the 80s.

fah sho' - real talk....i know i didn't care about fire and safety issues - thas was the furthest thing from my mind. #1 thought for me = trying to get my drink on...and trying get my mack on.
