^ that cover is hilarious! - I love covers that show mixing consoles.

This is probably the most bizarre record musically that I own.

@ Rchecka , some really good stuff lately . I'm glad you dig the Bury the Living joint .LMAO at the wrestling joint . I used to love wrestling too as a kid , just lost that love as a teenager ...
@ Kep , still bringing that rare groove heat !!!
As for me lately ...
I got a nice package in the mail a few days ago from Organik Recordings , an indie label from Portland , Oregon that specializes in downtempo electronic and trip hop type stuff .

Floored Capri - L Plates ep . 6 really laid back tracks on this one . With touches of jazz , hip hop , trip hop , and house (which I'm not a huge fan of , but it really works here ). Nice background or chill out music ..
Wes Jones - Mount Analog lp . I actually copped this on it's original run in 2006 , and loved it so much , that I had to cop the limited 2nd press which I lucked up and got the one pressed on translucent orange vinyl . This album ranges from down to mid tempo . Mostly lo-fi recoding .It has all the same touches as the Floored Capri minus the house , plus a little glitch ( which I usually REALLY DON"T LIKE , but again it really works here ).
Cru Jonez - May/Painted Basement 7" . May is a dope trip hop joint with a heavy drum break backbone . While Painted Basement is a little lighter with a nice jazz sample . You can definitely hear some Dj Shadow influence here (even if it is a slight one)
Mr. Bambu / Eggplant Mustafa - Klick Klack/Walking On Eggshells 7" . First off I should mention that both artists on here are the same dude . he just has several alter egos .Both tracks on here have a little more of that Dan The Automator downtempo/trip hop/hip hop sound . They could definitely fit in on one of those spaced out hip hop joints that were popular back in the mid to late 90s.
So far , I am very impressed with this label and will cop more of their releases. Not to mention the fact that I only actually ordered the Wes Jones and Floored Capri albums . The Cru Jonez and Mr. Bambu joints were free along with a cd and 6 stickers ..

Frank Popp Ensemble - Touch And Go lp. I actually picked this up for the cover art alone , but was pleasantly surprised after the first listen . mostly funk and soul sounds here , but with a more modern sound . There is also a little rock and disco influence here .Mostly high energy sounds that would make a great party album .

Sarah Vaughan - Feelin' Good lp. Although this is a late effort by Ms. Vaughan , it's a good one !!! Mostly laid back jazz tracks , but ther are a few very funky moments here too . She's just one of those artists I can't get enough of . I love her aged voice on this album too!!

Buddy Rich / Max Roach - Rich Versus Roach lp . When they wrote " a battle of bands and drums " on the cover , they meant it!!! These dudes get down !!! This is definitely a must have jazz drum album . But I gotta say that in my opinion and not to take away from Max Roach , Buddy Guy killed it on this one . Two great jazz drummers and their bands (who are no slouches either) showcasing their skill to the fullest , how could you go wrong ???

The Whitefield Brothers - Chokin'/Rampage 10" .I don't own a lot of these guys music , and I'm really starting to question why . this is a dope , funky 10" !!! Really deep funk , but with a sound of their own . These dudes are really good at taking styles of funk from all round the globe and incorporating it into their sound to give it a new life ..

The Adventures Of Flash Gordon lp . I probably shouldn't post this yet , since I haven't actually listened to it yet . I'm actually having trouble breaking the shrink wrap . I found this sealed (which it has been since 1982 ) .I will eventually come to terms with the fact that it was made to listen to , and crack it open ...

@JayBrown - I have been in that same situation. Crack that shrink wrap open!

I was just reading about the Rich Versus Roach lp, and it said that Rich was on the right channel and Roach was on the left. Is that true?
