Recently...

The City Champs - The Set Up lp. Jazzy funk music , with a pretty laid back feel . I copped this a few years back and filed it away . I can't believe it was forgotten about for so long . Definitely a good solid listen..

Billy Paul - Going East lp . Sticking with the jazzy theme , some nice jazz infused Philly soul , with a little funk for good measure . Some dope sampleables and loops here too , especially if you give it the K West treatment and speed it up . a good deal of the tracks on here sound as good at 45 rpm as they do at 331/3 .

The Barigozzi Group - The Optical Sound 2lp . Apparently The tracks on this album are originally from three previous Barigozzi albums that were recorded as Italian library joints . This was my first experience with the Barigozzis . I copped this strictly for the cover art and was pleasantly surprised with the content . So jazzy and funky , with a real groovy feel .

Various - Forge Your Own Chains..Heavy Psychedelic Ballads And Dirges 1968 - 1974 2lp . this was another album that for some reason , the cover art really grabbed me ( I know melty colors...WTF right ?) . This was another pleasent surprise !! This album is full of Psych goodness from around the world . A diggers treasure trove of fuzzy guitars and dope drums ....

The Funky Worm - Hustle (To The Music ) 12" test press . The label only said Funky Worm , and the different names of the mixes , so I wasn't sure about what was on it , but for $0.95 I took a Chance . A nice freestyle 12 with a touch of electro . I actually own the original 12" release of this track , but the test press has 2 extra mixes ..

Bloodstone - Greatest Hits lp . I actually only knew one song by Bloodstone .. Natural High . It is a really laid back soul love song that always stuck in my head , so when I saw this album for $3.00 , I bit just so I would have that track at my disposal . Not a bad cop after all . More nice laid back soul and some good upbeat funk tracks on here . Not my favorite soul best of , but good nonetheless .

And last but definitely not least ..

Eno (Brian Eno ) - Another Green World lp . I was not up on Brian Eno until Rchecka started hooking me up with his records when we made trades . This is the last trade record he sent me , and it's really good . As I told Rchecka , I probably never would've picked this record up on my own , but am kicking myself for not hearing of it before . Although mostly instrumental , there is 5 or so vocal tracks with almost funny lyrics that keep it interesting .Very experimental and ahead of it's time . Definitely an interesting listen that is set way apart from what I normally dig for , but a much appreciated trade . Good lookin homie ..

^Great selections man, a lot of that I'm totally new to.

Nice score on some of those nice priced, especially that funky worm joint. Such a classic break, gotta hear that!

That right there is easily one of my all time favorite albums. I'm definitely breaking it down in GMM's Top 20 of All Time Albums post that everyone's sleeping on. It'll make the top 5 for sure, I'm sure of it. I've heard this album countless times and I get more sucked in each time, kind of like a really deep film.

I know what you mean by funny lyrics, I'm guessing you mean "I'll come running to tie your shoes" that's actually a love song written to his girl about how he'll do whatever it takes to get her attention, That song is humble poetry.

I'm glad you are digging that man, I knew you would.

The next one is in transit.

BTW, trading records amongst Cratedigging Coop members is strongly encouraged.

I hope that everyone takes advantage of the cooperative concept here.

Start reviewing your records, network with other diggers, trade based on the trust system.

^^ Thanks homie !!
Tonight ..

The LA4 - Pavane Pour Une Infante Defunte lp . I can't believe this is only the second time I have listened to this record !! Really dope Jazz joint with a Brazilian feel . My wife went to an auction without me and came back with a plastic tote full of records . Most of them were your typical thrift store finds . And I don't mean those every once in a while amazing thrift store finds , just the usually garbage stuff . But I ended up keeping a few . This being one of them . Definitely worth the $5.00 she paid for the tote .

Am I tripping , or is that the sample for Girls by the Beastie Boys at 6:34 ???

Sorry I've been so absent lately guys, the holidayz are in full effect.

But I gotta drop in and drop love for the absolute best workout mix I've ever heard, free download, crazy hard and I woke up to it for the first time this morning.

Dieselboy - Unleashed Mix

FREE DOWNLOAD at Soundcloud

When it comes to work out music IMO, Dieselboy, master American DJ of D&B\Jungle has the all-time best music for running\lifting\general cardio. Crazy intense music for pushing yourself. Or just moshing in your living room.

^^I get tired just hearing the word "workout" so I ain't cklicking on no free download...

Lately picked up a couple of good ones:

The J.B.'s - These are the J.B.'s

A shelved album from 1971 with the lineup that included Bootsy finally gets an official release. Features "the grunt" and two unreleased tracks that are well worth having plus a 12 page booklet with the story behind it. Good one but no youtube vids of the unreleased tracks yet.

Flame N King & The Sons Of Darkness ‎– Brandyfoot

A comp of some varied sounds from both 70's and 80's. Worth having for this one alone:

Picked up another good one from Russia's nr 1 funkband The Soul Surfers, this time a little more surf sound that usually.

Nico Gomez & His Afro Percussion inc - Ritual
Might just be my favorite latin-based album. This was even better than I thought and I did have high hopes after reading up on it. really good blend of pure funk with serious latin vibe.

Finally also got around to picking up an album I should've gotten a long time ago.
Alpha Blondy - Apartheit is nazism

The best reggae out of Africa I've ever came across.
