I got stuck late at work and now I'm waiting to pick my girlfriend up from school, so I haven't spun any records yet today. I am, however, bumping Indecision's album Most Precious Blood, mightily. For those unfamiliar, they were a brooklyn hardcore band from the late 90s that flirted with metal and noise a lot more than your typical NYHC bands. Good rainy day music (which today is) and excellent shitty day music (which it also was).

I'm on that 16 loop, down in that Houston, baby

Welcome aboard !! I checked out Indecision , not bad . I'm not entirely sur why , but it made me want to listen to some of Candidria's old stuff.

For me recently ...

The 5th Dimension - The Age Of Aquarius lp . Such a good often overlooked album . When I need a feel good album to start the day with , this one comes to mind often . Soulful , a little funky , uplifting , and just all around fun to listen to . Lots of great harmonizing on here too..

School Me ! Volume One 1968-1975 High Scool And Collegiate Jazz, Funk, Soul, And Psychedelia 2lp . Yo, if my high school band sounded like this , I probably would've had to join . The intro to this album is a school band playing the Let The Sunshine In portion of the Age Of Aquarius track I just posted . This is a very good listen if your into funk and soul instrumentation .Some of these kids had to make it into bands later . Most of the recordings on here are pretty raw , but it actually adds to the sound instead of taking away from it . A definite solid listen . Couldn't find any videos from this , but I am posting from my phone and youtube is a little limited on it .

Darondo - Let Amy People Go lp . I remember reading some great reviews of this album years back , but had a hard time believing it could be as good as people said . I was wrong !! This dude plays funky soul with a hint of jazz like he invented it . At times , he gets an Al Green sound that make Al sound like he bit the style . This is probably my favorite album that I have personally bought myself in a long time. I caught it on the recent repress on transparent coke bottle colored vinyl .

Menahan Street Band - The Crossing lp . First off , I want to say thanks to Rchecka because he hooked me up with this album on a trade . I copped their first album Make The Road By Walking some years back , and remember thinking there is no way they could top this . Although it's not unusual lately , I was wrong ( again ) . This album is amazing !! They honestly have a style of funky soul instrumentation that I don't think any other band could pull off . There are some nice exotic touches to this album and the drums are so tight . A solid listen from the first to last groove . Thanks again Homie !!

Billie Holiday - At Stoyville lp . I have always loved Billie Holiday , but am definitely lacking vinyl by her . I was happy to see this album as a Black Friday release , but then saddened when I couldn't make it out for BF . Luckily for me , there were quite a few copies for sale online the next day . This is an amazing live show recording . Her voice sounds as beautiful as ever on here !!! I could close my eyes and almost picture myself in the crowd . If your a fan , make sure to cop this if you haven't already . Pressed up on white vinyl that's almost as stunning as her beautiful picture on the cover .. Sorry , no vids again .
And last but not least ...

The Dead Milkmen - Big Lizard In My Backyard lp . Another Black Friday release I though I might miss , but luckily didn't !! I have been a fan of this album since the 5th grade . You get humor , anger , political incorrectness ( I guess that's how you would say that) , silliness , and all the other things that make up a great DM record . These dudes had a style of punk all their own . I was lucky enough to cop one of the 100 green pressings in this 3000 piece run .

That's all for now ..
