Good stuff as usual Kep !!!that sounds like an album Rchecka would really feel.
I bumped a real mixed bag of records lately.. Let's start with soul and r&b.

Dj Spinna Vs P&P Records limited edition on pink vinyl 2lp. To be honest , I don't know anything about P&P other than what I've heard on here . I actually just copped this because it has Spinna's name on it and that dude has no problem keeping my head nodding . This album is a dope collection of hard to find tracks from the P&P label hand selected by Spinna . It is a great mix of funk ,soul/r&b,and a little bit of a disco sound . Definitely a good score .
A few randomly selected joints...

LTD - Love To The World lp. I copped quite a few albums recently for pretty much one track off the album . This was one of them . I have always had a soft spot for the song Love Ballad , but never copped the album until now . I was expecting to just like that song , but was pleasantly surprised by this album . There are a lot of styles of soul touched on here (mellow lovers soul , boogie/disco ,etc.) . some really nice funky moments on here too..

Cornelius Brothers And Sister Rose - self-titled lp. I copped this on for the track Too Late To Turn Back Now , and again was pleased with the rest of the album . Sweet laid back soul music with nice harmonies and great use of strings !! I wasn't sure if I would be , but I am definitely a fan of this group..

The Manhattans - Greatest Hits lp. once again , I copped this on for one track, Shining star . This too turned out to be a great collection of song , with a few I didn't really feel. But , the rest made up for the ones I didn't like .I've really been feelin the love songs lately ...

Various Artists - The Music City Sessions Volume 1 :Richmond Experience lp. the cover was what caught my eye with this one . I loved the fact that it says "file under funk" in the top right corner !! This is a dope collection of FUNKY soul/r&b from Richmond California . I have to keep my eyes opened for more volumes as I was very impressed with this one
this is the only video I could find for this album ( I was hoping to share more .. )

Now let's talk jazz..

Billy Brooks - Windmills Of The Mind lp . Dope jazz album with some nice funky moment and ill drums sprinkled in . A definite solid listen . And , not to mention , a Tribe Sample. I shoulda copped this long before now.

B Baker Chocolate Co.- self-titled promo lp . Laid back soulful jazz with funky undertones .I was happy to have copped this for $2.99 ..a great listen ..

The City Champs - TheSafecracker lp. Funky soulful jazz from Memphis . Very organ heavy , but not overpowering . A definite solid listen for fans of funky jazz in the Booker T & The MGs vein .

Catalyst - self-titled lp. Laid back almost spiritual jazz . Some very nice funky undertones . Very easy to vibe out too . Another solid listen !!! Also another one I shoulda copped a long time ago

Ahmad Jamal - Happy Moods lp . I pretty much will grab any Ahmad Jamal album I see in good shape . They meant it when they said happy moods , because these tracks will almost put a smile on your face . Not too upbeat , but the mood is still there . A nice listen for sure ..

The Latin Jazz Quintet - Latin Soul lp . Thought I would take a chance on this one . I am so glad I did . The percussion on this album really stands out . A lot of song are heavy on the vibes (vibraphone), and I love it . I really got in the zone bumpin this joint . Another very solid listen.

Afro Latin Vintage Orchestra - Pulsion 2lp . There is a lot going on here .It is jazzy with hip hop , global , funk undertones . It has the feel of a funky library joint . This is my first experience with this band , but I will definitely cop more of their albums .

Now for some rock and psych..

Cos - Postaeolian Train Robbery limited edition lp . This is another one I took a chance on and don't regret doing it . Jazzy prog rock from Belgium with a psych touch . This too has a libray feel ..

Selda Bagcan - Selda lp . Really Dope Turkish psych folk . Fuzzy guitars ,dope drums and foreign lyrics .. How could you go wrong ? Another solid listen even though I don't know what she is saying ... I also caught a Mos Def sample ( from the Ecstatic )

Robin Trower - For Earth Below lp. I had never heard of Robin Trower until I started looking into a Cunninlynguists sample (which is not on this album ).Bluesy rock with a twist . This album takes turns that almost remind me of Pink Floyd .Trower is actually the guitarist for the band. James Dewar the singer (and drummer) has a little of that r&b tone to his voice . I once again was unsure what I was getting into here, but really enjoyed the album .

And now for one of my fess up guilty pleasure bands . I copped 3 of their records recently just for one song a piece on each ..

Ambrosia - One Eighty lp .I copped this one for the song Biggest Part Of Me (try not to laugh at me too hard for that ) . Couldn't really find anything else on there that I liked ...

Ambrosia - Life After LA lp. I copped this for the song How much I Feel (seriously , try not to laugh).

But I did find this track that opens with a drum break and has a funky bassline

Ambrosia - self-titled lp. I copped this for the song Holdin On To Yesterday , and I stand behind this one (even if it is cheesy). I love the way this song opens..

Side A of this record is tolerable and much better than the other 2 records ...
My last new purchase is a breaks record..

Senor Salsa - Master Bastido Breaks Vol.2 . Nothing too impressive here . Just your average battle breaks record . This one is very light on the scratchables though ....
That's it for now ......

Excellent post jaybrown! I really liked Afro Latin Vintage Orchestra, it reminded me of the Heliocentrics. COS is awesome. And that Selda album was produced by Zafer Dilek hands down favorite producer from Turkey!
