Something a little different. When my friends grandfather passed he left my friend with a bunch of old 40's and 50's bluegrass records. My friend let me care for the records since I played banjo, listened to bluegrass, and collected records. There is so cool stuff here including a Hank Williams as Luke the Drifter record.

So much goodness since last time I checked into this thread-- I'm definitely partial to that Orchid though! I picked that record up way back in the day because the dude on the cover looked like the Misfits fiend and initially really wasn't feeling it, but unlike most people, I've actually grown to like screamo MORE in my old age, so now it's up there with some of my favorites of the genre.

This morning, however, I was listening to some punk rock that's a little easier on the earsGoodnight, Sellout! by Plow United

(I don't know why, but this video fades out before the song ends and I can't find the full version)

My personal connection to these guys:
When I was in 8th grade, I started hanging out regularly with some friends at this abandoned building along the train tracks that at one time had functioned as a power generator, known around town as Punk Haus. We didn't name it that. According to one of my friends, her older brother and his friends had called it that when they were hanging out there ten years before. That older brother played in punk bands and Plow were among his contemporaries. Supposedly the generator named in this song was the same one that we all hung around and I tell you what, that made me feel pretty cool.
