Man, the acoustic version is ok, but that OG version is tight!Rock On

I love that style of stoner rock, I'm a sucker for that sheet.

^^ yeah - acoustic versions of songs don't always give that "punch" like original version do, but this acoustic version of, 'Gardenia', (i feel) shows that better-than-average voice that lead singer, John Garcia has (live)...even after all these years performing and living the life of a stoner rock band member.

it's pretty ugly, right now, with all the legal/lawsuit sh*t that's going on between some of the (original) member of Kyuss that left the band (Josh Homme being the main one, and Scott Reeder) and the residual band members that stayed in Kyuss (renaming the group, Kyuss Lives!) - dealing with the name and perfoming of songs and sh*t. It's on some straight up, Temptations type sh*t.....

Quote

"In March 2012, it was revealed that Josh Homme and bassist Scott Reeder have filed a federal lawsuit against John Garcia and Brant Bjork alleging "trademark infringement and consumer fraud" over the use of the Kyuss name."

^Damn, sounds like the same kind of thing happened to CCR, Fogherty getting sued for using that name too. Too bad when beef like that happens w/ good groups.

This kend...

LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening (DFA Records) 2010

^One of my all time favorite albums, half rock, half electronic, all solid. I must have bumped this 50+ times and it only gets better with each listen.

Fever Tree - Creation (UNI Records) 1969

^Not quite as good as the self titled Fever Tree from earlier, but still top notch psychedelic blues. Madlib plundered this for beats as he did w/ the self titled.

Dynamics - 180 000 Miles And Counting (Big Single) 2011

^Bought this on a whim, read a few reviews, thought I might like it since it's soulful reggae and sho nuff I do. It started out a little weak, but quickly it became clear that these guys know how to drop a quality soulful reggae cover. Great dubs on this too.

Jack McVae & His All Stars - Wino (1930s ish)

^I busted out the 78 RPM plates this weekend for a blues mix I am making. I'm glad my decks spin at 78 else I'd have no way to play these extremely dope old ass blues 10" records I bought. Normally 78 is my "record-cleaning speed" but once in a while I plop a lacquer plate on em. For as old as these are they are WAY ahead of their time. Quite crackly but still crackalackin'.

Pee-wee Crayton - Wine-o 78 RPM (Imperial) 1940s

^My favorite blues song ever, and I wanted this record more then anything, so I coughed up 50 bucks for this. For those who aren't familiar, Pee wee Crayton did some licks on the electric guitar that had never been tried by a bluesman before. This is as real as the blues can get, an absolute stunner.
