I'm guessing P wont be in for a while this morning, all hung over from last night?? ((needcoffee))

Last night...

Some Random 45s...

^That Clonzon May's Sextet "We Are Naturally High" is some fantastic jazz. Couldn't believe how long it was for a 45. Hypnotic Brass Ensamble does a great cover of Shaft in Africa on that 45 called "Brass in Africa". Really dope, but then again, Hypnotic Brass is always pretty dope horns funk.

Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures 2LP (Interscope) 2009

First side kinda through me a curve ball, I didn't think it was that good but as a whole this is really a cool solid stoner rock album. It reminds me of the QOTSA self titled album a bit, but a bit more heavily produced, not as raw. Some abstract tangents on this keeps it interesting. I'm gonna have to give this a few more listens before I know if I love it or not, but I know it'll grow on me.

^Coincidentally, I had "Gangster of Love" "I Don't Wanna Be a Lone Ranger" and "Love That Will Not Die" 7"s playing yesterday.

and this...

Sly & Robbie - Blackwood Dub (Groove Attack) 2012

^Gotdamn dub! These guys have been dub masters for a long time, and then they go and drop one of the dopest dub albums I ever heard. Played this 2 times in a row, couldn't believe how sweet the production was on this. Guitar playing reminded me of an old album by the Police. This could be their best dub album ever. But you don't have take my word for it says Levar Burton from Reading Rainbow...

LP (Item 602358) Groove Attack (Germany), 2012 — Condition: New Copy

Trancscendent dub from masters Sly Dunbar & Robbie Shakespeare – delivering some of the best modern dub we've heard in years – from Sly & Robbie or anyone else! Firstly, the production and instrumentation is top notch. Recorded Harry J's and featuring a stellar line up of players. Secondly, they're delivering the goods creatively – with all the echo and atmosphere of classic dub, but doing so with a profoundly modern vibe. Sly's drums, percussion and syn drums are a mighty thing to behold – technologically adept, yet steeped in classic vibes. Robbie's guitars are great, too, and the players include Dalton Brownie, Hansel Collins, Robbie Lyn, Mikey Mao Chung and others. Includes "Dirty Flirty", "Shabby Attack", "Burru Saturday", "Communication Breakdown", "Frenchman Code", "Riding East", "Smoothie", "The Bomber", "The Great Escape" and more. (Limited edition vinyl includes the CD and poster.) © 1996-2012, Dusty Groove America, Inc.

Yest...

Velvet Underground - Loaded (Atlantic) 1971

^My second favorite album from the groundbreaking band. I couldn't possibly review something so important to early progressive rock so I'll just say this...

It Starts off kinda "ehh", then slowly builds into a "woah", then finally a "dude!!!"

DUDE!!!!!!!!!!
