A few cool recent additions to my meager library music section...

^Don't you just love it when your record store guy doesn't know what he's got but prices cheap it anyway? I got this (not rare, but rare around these parts) sweet funky soulful library record locally for 4 bucks in top notch condition. Me and the owner banter a bit about records (imagine that) and I asked him if he knew about Library records as I was already checking out with 5 bucks in hand. He said he didn't know much and like myself when I first heard the term he thought they were records that came from some public library somewhere, so naturally being records that were borrowed from the general public they probably were all beat to hell.

I told him about De Wolfe and how he basically invented the concept of records made for TV and film and how a business, and later that entire specific music industry was created because of these things. Since we were the only ones in the shop, he had time to get interested so I linked him to this BBC Documentary "Into the Music Library" and happily skipped out the door as he started listening.

He thanked me for the link and info and said something that struck me as really cool, he said "I still learn something new from my customers just about every day I come to work." This is why this guy has a good business, he connects with his buyers and even though most of his stuff is a bit overpriced I happily give him my money instead of the paying less online and then having the additional shipping charge as well.

^So a week later I went back and found this in his recent issues, again priced at 4 dollars. Now that one above this one is great, but this is absolute killer samples just waiting to be harvested. This time his store was busy and he didn't even have time to look at me since he was getting 20 questions from the small legion of fucking downvote teens looking for the new Pink Floyd album. So I stood at the checkout, had my 5 in hand and handed it to him with the record. He smirked at me and said "Damnit! I didn't have time to reprice this after listening to that BBC show! Oh, well!"

When I bought these, neither this LR or the one above it was available in the US, so I was happy to get a hella deal on a few records for this interesting niche I am clearly lacking in.
