Martin Nonstatic - Granite - CD/Digital

Here is an interesting one. This guy has been around for awhile but this album is a bit more unique than some other material I've heard from him. Although nominally associated with the whole "dub techno" subgenre, this is definitely not your typical GAS/Basic Channel/Maurizio rip-off. There are hints of ambient music, experimental soundscapes, Warp style IDM, glitch music, etc. Quite a bit going on and very detailed production work. A very nice album if you like the mellower side of somewhat beat driven electronic music.

Label copy:

Inspired by natural rocks this opus is composed by Martin Van Rossum under his Martin Nonstatic moniker.

A twelve-tracks album of smooth catchy drifts, hypnotic melodies and waves of subtle beats that contrast with lush soundscapes. Spiced-up blend of deep techno slash house, dub and downtempo, enhances clean-cut electronic rhythms and soothing rolling bass lines.

RN, bumping one of my favorite producer's newer EPs...

^He has a way of combining analog video to make fat chunky beats that can't be funked with.

Reload - A Collection of Short Stories

One of my favorite electronic albums of the 90s here. Reload was a side project of Global Communication, and this album is every bit as good as the more lauded 76:14 album. Reload is much darker than the stuff these guys produced under the GC alias though.

Demdike Stare - Wonderland
Modern Love Records, 2016

Excellent album from these guys that's more techno oriented and maybe not as far out as some of their earlier work. As much as i liked their more doom-themed, industrial/experimental stuff (and there's still some of that to be found here), I also dig this record in a big way.
