^I gotta admit, I've got a really anti-"best of" bias but if you look at certain artists, they were creating music during a time where things were more singles-oriented and albums were sort of an afterthought. A lot of types of JA music certainly fall into that category. If you like that Delroy LP, look for "original 18" on CD (Heartbeat Records) as I believe it has some studio one tracks that are not on that.

Toyan - How the West Was Won LP

Haven't put this on in awhile, heavy old-school dancehall/rub-a-dub with some heavy riddims.

Ranking Ann - A Slice of English Toast

Early 80s reggae from the UK. Some heavy dub on this one. Heard about this from a guy at a record shop. Unfortunately the LP is OOP (and pricey) but there is a recent Japanese CD reissue as well as an inexpensive lossless download from ReggaeRecord.com.

African Head Charge - Environmental Studies LP

Not sure what I would call this. Avant UK dub? Lots going on here and gets pretty far away from traditional dub at times. I'm sure some purist types hate this but I dig it. If you like dub and some of the more percussion oriented stuff Eno was doing with his ambient records in the 80s you'll probably dig this.

Label copy:

Experimental 80's studio album that saw African Head Charge working manipulated and vari-speeded 1/4 inch tape loops that were re-recorded back to the multi track, soaked in reverb and delay, and then applied to the performances of the musicians, not to mention extensive use of found sounds and field recordings, hence the title.
