I feel you....after the 'Xodus album...:wasn't anything to follow up for like 10 years....but, still didn't (studio) come out with anything too exciting.

BUT.....

....Brother J did rock a solo/different group-effort (in '96) - Dark Sun Riders. It was/still is pretty official, to me....dope album. It really came out under the radar, at that time....no promotion at all, from what I remember (other than a (visual) Ad or two in The Source).

peace.

Man I LOVE that album. I pull it out every couple of months. It's an album that doesn't miss Professor X at all. A lot of the lyrics are a bit over my head as far as metaphors are concerned but I still enjoy it on more levels than one as the beats are dope and the overall mood that the album creates is a thing in itself. I got the 12" for "Dark sun riders", which has a pretty good b-side as well but the title escapes me. There was a second 12" off that lp too, but I've never heard it. Will absolutely pick it up when I come across it.

Last few days....

Kurtis Stanley - Gummy Soul

Was bumping the track "Off And Running" in the ride...this project was tight, Kurt Stanley's flow and the tracks have kind of a throwback appeal but he's definetely nice with his.

The Black Opera - Libretto of King Legend

These cats kinda remind me of that flick, "The Spook Who Sat By The Door"....was bumping "Red Bills" in the ride.

Hus Kingpin - The Cognac Tape

Quelle Chris - Shotgun & Sleek Rifle

Gummy Soul/Souls Of Mischief - 93 Still

Good stuff Eye !!! Are you a gummy Soul fan , or just bumpin the 93' Still joint ?? Although that whole crew is mostly known for their remix albums , they still drop some good original stuff too . They are local to me here in Nashville , so I see them out at every show I make it out to . They are some pretty down to earth dudes.
Talib Kweli (The Beautiful Struggle) for me today

Definetely dug the Tribe and De La Soul projects....the Kurtis Stanley joint was tight too. Eye see that Amerigo Gazaway bounced...some his stuff was on point....just copped Chromed Out Remixes Vol. 1....a couple of quality mashups.
